Well, after being without a Mopar for years I finally bought one. The rear end on my old Ranger started going out, and a rebuild costs half what the truck is worth, so it got put out on the street to make room in the garage for a new Challenger.

I was initially hunting for a used one, buy the used ones cost near new prices once you factor in the rebates and interest rates etc. I talked a dealer in Omaha down to a used car price on a new Challenger R/T blacktop edition, but he had to bring it in from another lot that was already closed for the day. He called me back the following monday to tell me the car had sold, but they had another one that was similar. We had a little disagreement on the way they were quoting me prices, without tax when everyone else quoted me with tax, so I headed off to another lot.

I looked at a couple of cars on another lot that were loaded with useless options, and overpriced. I sent the salesman in Omaha an email that said I was standing on another dealers lot and had not yet spoken to a salesman, so if he wanted my business he better drop his price to make up for the sales tax. Got an email a few minutes later with the exact price I wanted for the car, so we headed out and picked it up.

I really like that it is a 2014, since my last Dodge was a 1964. Kinda neat to have owned a 50 year anniversary and a 100 year anniversary Dodge, although mine doesn't have the anniversary package on it. The only options on it are upgraded wheels, header orange paint, and the Super Track Pack.

I still want to find another 64 Polara, but now I have another awesome Mopar, so I feel better.

The car looks great. A new mopar that performs well in my opinion. I just picked up a charger R/T myself so my daily driver is at least the performance I want besides I got one with AWD for the Michigan winters. Oh, I have a 64 Plymouth as well. Enjoy your car.

Very nice, and great color choice! :headbang:

congrats & enjoy

Of course you did, that's what sales vultures do best. I walked out of a stealership over $50.00 one time. A couple days later, the sales vulture called me back saying that they'd meet my price, but I had already bought one from another stealer 2 days later. The guy didn't want to believe me, so I showed up in person with the new vehicle just to rub it in his face. True story.

Anyway, big congrats on the car. I've had mine for 4 years now & I really like it.

Thanks guys. I considered a Charger, 300C, or Ram, but they don't seem to want to sell any of them with a Hemi and manual transmission combo. I am really loving this color, the car gets lots of attention wherever I go. I get people stopping to talk to me or give me a thumbs up. Although we did have to leave a restaurant that we love that is in a bad neighborhood, because people kept coming up to talk to us. I thought my wife was going to have a panic attack. :)

I test drove a couple of these cars, and then bought this one without even test driving it. I kept reading about the Super Track Pack being the best option to order, and wow are they right this car handles so much better than the others I drove.

Welcome to the new Dodge Challenger owner world. I've had my SRT8 since July 2008 and I still get those looks, smiles and thumbs up everytime I take her out. ENJOY!!
