Hey guys, I have a '74 Satty and bought some front buckets out of a '73RR. They need to be redone so I'm
wondering if all the aftermarket material is the same fom where ever I get it or has anyone here had experience
and knows first hand where to get replacement parts from. I pretty much bought them just for the frames and the
tracks. The foam, seat covers, and maybe even the hard covers on the backs may have to be replaced. Just looking
for any suggestions. I've been looking at Classic Indus. just because once in a while I get emails from them for
10 - 20% off, but I dont know if thats a good reason to shop there.

Thank for any help, Jason

I bought a Legendary seat cover set from Classic during a 20% off sale.

Over $200 purchase qualified for free shipping.

It saved me about $120 versus buying direct from Legendary.

The only caveat was that they only had 74 covers, as 73 was out of stock.
Minor difference in skirt grain- 74 is smooth, 73 is textured. Didn't matter to me at all.

I also bought Legendary seat covers but got mine from Dantes during a Christmas sale they were having. I got them at a very good price and shipping was very reasonable. As far as quality goes, Legendary covers are very well made and I would deffinatly recomend them.

I have to agree with those guys, Legendary has some of the best interior stuff out on the market, and it's not too out of reach for the normal Mopar guy! The only reason why I havn't gotten anything from them is because they don't offer (as of 2 months ago when I last checked) my odd jade green cloth inserts for my buckets yet!

X2 , that's how and where I bought my Legendary interior.

I purchased my seat covers and other misc. interior items directly from Legendary during one of their sales. I think it was a 20% off sale. Before I purchased from Legendary I checked around with other suppliers. I asked each of them to send me a swatch of their material. Legendary was the only supplier that I could find that had the exact match for color and grain of the vinyl. I used a swatch from the bottom of my old seat covers to compare the new swatch samples.

I did all the work on my interior myself. My first time. It is not easy work but satisfying when finished. I still need to have an interior shop steam the seats to remove the small wrinkles.

I had some wrinkling/crease issues in the center of the rear seat, but they have 95% come out on their own after a few months.

Great service.

Post some pictures of the seats you picked up. Is the foam and backs really that rough? Do you plan to cover them yourself?

Yeah, good idea, I'll get some pics up. Both seat covers really rough shape. Driver seat foam rough also, may be able to save passenger foam but I figured I may as well replace it since I'm going this far.
The backs may also be useable, they're not cracked just some deep scratches and scuffs. Plus they're white and I have black interior. I could probably dye them but again, I may just replace them
since I'm replacing all the other stuff. I haven't decided yet weather to try and reassemble the seats myself. I'm gonna take everything apart and sand and repaint the frames and springs and maybe
decide then once its all repainted and I have all the new parts.

Yep, Legendary is the way to go. I did a post a while back about the difference between their high quality covers and the crap that YearOne sells, hands down Legendary has got it right with everything on their covers.

Legendary, Dantes,Moparts member group buy in the spring. Great stuff. Only thing that would beat it is to buy NOS material from SMS Fabrics and have Legendary sew it up. Which by the way did everybody know that Legendary will make you a set of seat covers out of material you supply? They used to do it for about a $100 less that full price but now I think in their busy seasons they charge the full price. But it is a cool option. You can also order any seat cover in any material they have, not just the stock colors. Couple of tips for the OP. Do one seat at a time, there are some things that are tricky to put back together. The side adjuster knobs can be a bear to get off, so use some heat. And if you rebuild your seat tracks, be careful taking them apart, there are little plastic holders with ball bearings in there that could be destroyed and are hard to find. But taking them apart and cleaning will make them super nice. Totally agree with idea to get new seat backs and there is a new supplier on Ebay that has some that look promising.

Another difficult area is the listing wires that run vertical in the seat backs.

I'm stuck on those and still using my aged seat backs with the new bottoms and back seat.

I'd love to see how to tackle those.

I haven't yet taken my seats apart yet. What are the listing wires?

The listing wires are what gives the seat it's "bolster" and shape around the insert. They are attatched by hog rings and run through pockets in the seat cover. Here are some pics:
