Finally found it!!!

army we would send them for squelch grease. and inside outside road wheel bearings

Things we used to send apprentices out to find: Left-handed pipe wrench - A bucket of steam - Metric crescent wrench...

While in the US Army (watercraft) we would have newbies go grease the relative bearings, go find keys for the sea chest, or have a deckhand get up on the bow when approaching a bridge to pay the "toll", we would tell them that the bridge master will lower a bucket to put the money in....had tons of laughs at their expense!

Some of you military guys will enjoy this, we use to send some of the newbies to our Helicopter unit over to the other Helicopter unit to get a 55 gallon drum of rotor wash, they would play along and send them somewhere else, eventually he'd run into an flight officer with no sense of humor and end up with some extra PT for his trouble.

I was in USMC artillery for a little while. The sights on the cannons had level viles in them, we used to send the boots out for "Bubble Water".

Another favorite was to send them to building #5000 (1.5 miles across base) for "Muzzle Blast". Finally the guys at building #5000 got wise and we started seeing boots come dragging @ss back, in 120 degree heat mind you, carrying a 5 gallon bucket full of sand with the words "Muzzle Blast" spray painted on the sides.

We started sending the real slow ones back for another 5 gallons.

As the only chick working at the parts counter at Checker Auto Parts years ago when I lived in Colorado, I got asked for most of them. My favorite poser test question was the lower radiator hose for a '55 Volkswagen ..... :D

....what, no left-handed smoke shifter?

Also in the USMC it was a big hit to send the newly minted privates to the comm office for a can of "frequency grease" or to supply for a box of "grid squares"

We sent a couple of newbies out to a compressor shed to replace the hemalator. About an hour later one of them got on the radio and asked 'just exactly where is the hemalator located'....and that's exactly what we wanted to hear on a radio. Even the boss was laughing along with everyone else. Someone replied that it was bolted to the 4th stage on the north end. Well, no 4th stage and the machine faced east and west and that's when they knew they were the butt of a joke lol.

I'm sending our junior out for a roll of Fallopian Tubing on Monday morning. Hope he gets the correct diameter.

In our Apache Longbow Attack - Recon outfit we would send them out for some Hellfire grease. So the HELLFIRE missiles would slide off of the rails easier. Worked every time.
