I have a chance to buy a 68 coronet delux but I don't know any thing about this model
I'm told it's in pretty good shape. 273 motor, 2B, 2 door, vinyl top, auto on tree, bench seat
Thanks

That one threw me for a moment a 273 in 68, but they did small block were 273, 318 and 340. Sounds like it would be a real economical cruise combination. I have seen original hemi bench seat automatic on the column cars kind of a cool combination and not what one expect.

Thanks for the info.
I will let you know what I find after I see it this mourning.

Throw in a few pictures, sounds very interesting !! btw...I dont think the 340 was an option for the Coronet line....the 273 for the Coronet Deluxe model was normal and I believe normally it was offered only as a post and not a hardtop ? Guys?

You are correct BostonElfjr.
It is a post car.
It needs a lot of work. The owner says he has all the parts to restore the car.
Rear quarters, trunk floor and extentions, the entire floor pans, for example.
The doors are in good shape as well as the trunk lid and front quarters
Needs complete interior and paint.
The best thing is the 273 fired right up and ran good.
I think I'm going to pass on this one.
I did all of this when I restored my R/T.
And I know the years it took and the cost
I guess I'm getting old. LOL

I can understand why you'd want to pass on it, it not being a high dollar car and needing a lot of work, but I'd sure like to see it restored or restified. Here's a photo of my Deluxe and I've become quite fond of it.

Are you sure you won't reconsider? Someone needs to save that poor old Deluxe!

Hi SublimeSixpack
I didn't mean to imply that the Deluxe wasn't worth restoring, just that it was too much for me.
It's a neat car and certainly should be restored
According to the owner, if it doesn't sell he will restore it himself
But it will have to wait until he finishes a 68 R/T
Thanks for your input

That is a gorgeous coronet. Love the color combination.

Thanks guys. It's turned out to be a fun car.
Since I bought it a year and a half ago I upgraded to .920 T-bars in front, and XHD leaf springs in the rear, then added Firm Feel Anti-sway bars front and rear, and replaced the stock 318 2 barrel engine with a warmed up 360, among other things. It's actually a car you can drive now, if you know what I mean. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Like the 3 pointed Dodge insignia, the round markers and that it actually says CORONET on the side. No one knows what my Coronet is, not badged. I like the camera angle too, though there are no bad angles on these beautiful B Bodies.

Hey, at least you have it! Hang in there, and one day you'll be cruising down the road in it.
