Anyone have any suggestions on shipping a Dana 60 across the US? I can dock ship it from where I work, but the guy I'm sending it to doesn't have a place to recieve it. I thought I heard somewhere that you can dock ship to a Fastenal location for someone to pick up....did I hear right???

Any recommendations are welcome......this thing is not going via UPS or USPS.....way too big and heavy.

Thanks in advance

If you or your buyer has a Fastenal near by, call them and tell them what you have. I haven't used them but there's plenty who have. They suppose to be reasonable too.

You can ship it to his home if they can get a truck to his house, alot of ltl truck companies have lift gate home delivery, I work for Old Dominion freight line and make lots of home deliveries every day with stuff bigger than a rear end.

Last time I called the local Fastenal, I got morons that had no idea what I was talking about then when they finally did quote a price, it was really freaking high for something that was only 30 lbs.

If you need any help you can call me and I can tell how to package it and any questions you have about it. or Just pm me your number and I will call you.

Does this have to do with using Fastenal? I would like to know too and I'm sure so do other members. I already know how to package something like this for shipping......

I just shipped a tranny through Fastenal, was a great experience, both cost and they were easy to deal with. I was in no hurry took about a couple of weeks! as my pallet was a filler. I WILL do this again! it also helps to have a good seller that will package it as needed, and drop it off at there location.
if you wish PM me and I will get you the corperate # as they are local to me.

Has nothing to do with fastenal Cranky.can also have it picked up at your address if a truck has access to your house.

You can also use a company called freight forwarders, They ship by plane. its a slow process, they only ship point to point and will add it only when they have left over space. also pretty cheap. it requires you bring to a major airport and palletize it with strapping and no fluids permitted.

The best advice I can give is - Do not write "Rare MoPar DANA 60" on the outside of the packaging.
If you do, the chances of it arriving safely at the destination will be somewhat reduced.

Wonder why I got such tard when I called Fastenal. Was disappointed because they have a store that's less than 10 minutes from me.
