Hey guys, I'd appreciate any input you have on this.
Looking to get a good feel on the value of a freshly rebuilt 440.
Following is what I am being told about the build.
1970 HP block, bored .40 over, trw pistons and rings, forged crank, balanced, mopar 6pack cam, 906 heads with hardened seats, melling oil pump, trw double roller.

Motor is completely assembled and ready to install. (Minus carb)

Seller is asking $5k

What would you value this set-up at?

in the ballpark but on the high side...my 2 cents

what intake...rockers ? all stock ?

It depends. I don't think I'd pay that much unless I knew for sure that the machine work and assembly was done properly. On the other hand if the builder has a very good reputation and this engine has a particular date code that you're looking for, it may be a bargain.

I agree and would add that I would want to see all the receipts for the work done. Anymore it's not enough to take somebody's word for it. The actual part numbers of all installed components, compression ratio, and all cam specs are important down the road. If you have been reading the forum for a while you'll see how valuable this information can be down the road. Good luck and hope it works out.
