I am in the process of considering a 1969 Charger. The problem may be it wont fit in my garage. The specs say its 17' 4" i have 17' 2". Would someone be willing to measure ther car to see what the real length is?

thanks in advance

Ed

I don't have one but I just googled the specs they say 208 inches which rounds out to 17.33 inches long. That's so close I find a way to make it work! Maybe quickchange bumpers LOL. But I'm serious maybe recess the wall for the nose to stick in that area.

17'4" x 6'-6" real darn tight going through a 7 Ft door with out a straight shot good luck.

:welcome: aboard Ed!

I have a 69 Charger in a shop two miles away that I will be going over to it tomorrow and could measure it then.

After i posted i realized i will have to cut out studs and box it out like a window with a header. I'll gain 3 1/2". It has to work i just bought my plane ticket to checkout the car.

That's what I would've done good luck on your trip hope it turns out to be what you're looking for

So in order to plan for whatever b body i endup with, what is the height of bumper so i can start modifying my garage. Should i just do 18" to 36"?

You going to back it in so the hood can be opened or drive it in and have access to the trunk? Heights will vary do to differences in set up but will measure both ends of mine for you tomorrow.

Oh, just build some ramps so it parks diagonally uphill. You'll gain some inches that way. :)

Just a little more info for you, Car dimensions posted are right on. Just to give you an idea, My garage space is about 21 ft. I've got my tool box at one end and bay door at other. I can walk around my 69 ok. I can work on it ok but not great. It does work, not ideal. But I make it work. I also knew that when I went to look at it too.

Good luck, I hope the 69 is a good one for you!

My goal is to make it so i can back in or pull it in.

I had the bottom of our front closet removed to get my Charger in the garage...but I made it work...

Just finished cuting the garage apart. I will endup with about 1 1/2" extra. If the charge fits i will add insulating foam.

Also front valances sit right under the bumper and I took that on front and rear. Hope you do not incounter extended exhaust tips.
