Heater Core & Hoses

I'm rebuilding my Heater box and the new heater core comes with a 5/8th both inlet and outlet. I have noticed that some boxes for sale also have this 5/8 in and outlet hoses to the block. My 2 questions: Does it make a difference replacing the 1/2 inch with a 5/8, and both heater hoses being 5/8 of an inch? If not I will need a nipple going into the block with a 1/2 thread with a 5/8th nipple for the hose. Where can I get one? Anyone have a answer for both questions.

I have a 70 RR myself. The heater core for that year had the 2 different sizes from the core & at the water pump. The heater cores are available for this configuration.
