Meshing A RB440 To My 4 Speed

Just bought a 1965 RB 440 yesterday. It was set up for an automatic, and I currently have a 4 speed in the car with a small block bell housing. With the casting numbers at 1965 it is internally balanced. So what all do I need to match up these two besides a BB bell housing? Is there gonna be clearance enough for the input shaft? Are we gonna have to switch cranks? Buy an automatic? If I play with my gun to long, is it gonna go off, and shoot myself in the foot? Actually i'm very excited about making progress on decisions for this 69 Satellite. With help from a newly discovered parts guru in my area(he is a f***ing hoarder!!!), I will be saving myself alot of search time and money because he's very reasonable. He's got a bunch of drivetrain stuff that alot of people would love to have. It's currently what i'm trying to nail down. Any and all input as to making the transition less of a headache is greatly appreciated!:sunny:
 
The 65 440 should be internally balanced.
Would need a BB bell housing along with a 4-spd tranny mount.
Need to check if the crank is drilled for a pilot shaft.
 
Believe the pilot hole is around an 1.25" deep. Most automatic motors were not drilled for the bushing.

I'll look for the dims I drew up a while back. Your gonna need more than a 3/8". As I recall my '66 383 auto crank was not drilled anywhere near as deep as the picture, maybe only a 1/2" depth used for center purpose.

As I stated previously my 383 was nowhere near the 2.25" depth.
This is a never bushed 440 crank picture. Notice the step down in size. ..............

If you do drill to deep you will waste the crankshaft buy drilling into the oil gallery. Have a machine shop do this that knows what they are doing. Also make sure those used parts are good before wasting a lot of money trying to use them. I may know who you have been buying from and could be a case of buyer beware.
