Warning don't deal with this guy

It's terrible this stuff happens. I had no idea Gmail has such a bad rep. I'm pretty new to the whole interlink buying/selling scene & didn't realize choosing Gmail for contacts is a red flag for folks. Maybe I need to change that.

Aloha, Well that not quite fair. I use Gmail and I am a honest man living in Hawaii. But I do agree we need to be carful on who we buy & sell to. So far all the connections I have made on FBBO have been #1 in my book. Well back to work on my 63 Ply Spt Fury Vert. trying to get her running by summer. Mahalo from Hawaii where its Mopar or No Car for us few. C

Wow,
Now his Facebook has disappeared!

As our JoeyChgo always says: PAYPAL

But we are NEVER truly safe in dealing with the internet/business on line.

Sorry this happened to you man!

sux sorry to hear, moparts sux period bunch of hate mongering asshats

I didn't realise G-Mail had such a bad rap either. The reason I use a couple of those accounts, is because I changed providers a few times due to price, and every time you change while using the providers email account, you lose the account. Made sense to have a third party email address that sticks forever.

Hopefully someone catches up with this guy at a swap-meet soon, and has a wee chat with him. :angry1:

I hope it can be resolved, that royally sucks
sounds like a hit & run deal,
I'm always a little leery of new posters trying to sell stuff,
I know not all are scammers,
I just need to see some interaction with them a few times before I gain trust...

I try get all the personal contact information,
addresses home &/or work,
home phone bus. or cell phones,
talk to them it seems to help some too, better than e-mail contact only
e-mail addresses,
to have a way of tracking them down etc.
any honest seller will usually give you good information, when you ask for it,
those that won't just walk away, find someone else to buy from or deal with...

I know allot of "good people" that have Gmail addresses still,
not sure it's at all blamed on that...
Some have had them for years now, who knows I guess...

Consider it a lesson learned, in the "school of hard knocks",
"caveat emptor"/buyer beware
seem there's more & more of these types of posts &
more of these unscrupulous types of scammers out there today,
praying on the Mopar collectors/builders & car hobbyists in general

boostedwarlock is on notice now

thanks for the warning, anyway
wonder what the other side of the story is,
not that I don't believe you, there's always another side corrupt or not...

good luck either way

that seller's name sounds familiar...didn't some have a run in with him a while back?

he's deleted his facebook page, and nobody can get in touch with him now..he will not respond....

.............Just checked to see if that was me and it isn't. Cool!

Anyway, sorry to hear this happened and thanks for posting a warning.

I never use gmail. Ever. If someone has a gmail account, I'll ask for an alternate contact address or number. Gmail is infamous and friendly to the scammer crowd. Yes, I know that everyone on gmail is NOT a crook; but by the same token, most crooks seem to gravitate to gmail for their pursuits.

Hey once the moneys gone you can stick your head in the sand and pretend it didn;t happen or get over yourself and try to keep it from happening to someone else. Me, I have looked like an idiot before and probably will again at some point but letting him go without warning others that isn't right. We dont need people like him in our hobby.

True, thanks for the warning!

It's sad, but those types will surface using a different ID.

that sucks ..thanks for warning ..weird about G-mail but I've noticed that also.. I'm careful as anyone can be but stuff can happen .. I've dealt with people on A/B mopar sites successfully a few times ..I check to see how long they have been around and how active they have been and haven't had a problem ...yet...I often wonder what these people think of themselves when they look in the mirror

I've had gmail for years, same reason as Kiwi, switched providers a few times and wanted a permanent e mail address I could access from anywhere in the world.

I guess the scammers could switch to a yahoo account and fool you guys into thinking they are legit.

Sorry to bear about this. It sucks that there is a Asshat on every rack. They come back like weeds. Ruining the lawn.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have never had a bad experience buying or selling parts on this site. I have always sent the part and paid for the shipping first. After the buyer receives the parts I pm the total and have never been ripped off. I wouldn't do this with Craigslist or EBay but the people on FBBO from my experience are real Mopar lovers and awesome! Thanks to all who make this possible. This is by far the best site on the web.

Hey i know this sounds dumb, but could someone be kind enough to explain this Gmail stuff to me and how its not that good. Does this have something to do with sending money? Thanks

I don't know where this gmail thing started, but there is nothing wrong with it. As for sending money, use paypal.

Or just get your own domain for like $10 a year and connect it to the gmail service. I used to be sigge(at)slutstation.se (which means end station in swedish - you know - the final place to get off *drum roll*)

Hate this happened to you. Was it a lot of cash you lost?
