Recently AMD had a survey up somewhere asking people what they'd like made next.....and I responded accordingly.

Who else can we approach to get this project up and running? Is anyone aware of a manufacturer working on these grilles?

I'm sure the vendor would sell 100 in a heartbeat, assuming they also supplied the required brackets.

$$$ is the question. What would they go for ? Mine, thank God , is good. But if we got a deal, I might get one to stash.

I'm waiting for someone to 3d scan a good grill and put it on the internet so hundreds of kids can print out new grills on the school printer. :)

I'd say lets skip on the grill and get some fenders and doors first for the 71 and 72's

72 rear valence please, if we are making a wish list... Don't think I would buy a RR grill since I own a Sattellite. I guess I am one of the minority that loves the Satty grill as it is.

I purchased a new '71 rear valence (with exhaust cutouts) and planned to cut the cutouts out to weld into my bent '72 valence (that didn't have cutouts).

Turns out the '71 valence looks pretty good fitted despite having the wrong profile for the '72 bumper....my panel guy says it's an easy fix to make it right.

I'll post a pic when I get back to the workshop next week.

That would be great, thanks!

have a pair of `72 here in Denison,texas,75020. one has a small wave to one of the horizontal lines. let me know, patti

The soft headlamp bezels for 1973-74 Chargers would have to be a big seller, most originals are shot. Also 71-74 B-body roof skins.

A pair of what? Fenders or doors?!?

I took my bumpers to a chrome shop and they acid dipped it so I could paint my bumpers. Cost was $40. cheap.

Fair enough. However some folks are buying new bumpers since they don't have bumpers to start with and/or finding a good straight core to begin the process with ends up being about the same price as a reproduction...especially since a new non-chromed bumper will (or at least in theory SHOULD) be a good bit less expensive than the chrome version(s). That initial cost savings plus not having to pay to have the chrome removed, likely will keep $100 or more in the enthusiasts pocket they can use towards some other overpriced "rare" part.

That being said, I swear I recently saw re-production raw (non-chrome) 1971-72 Plymouth B-body bumpers for sale online (most likely on eBay?).

Wow, that's good to know. I have a few sets of 'okay' chrome ones with minor flaws, and planned on taking 80 grit to sand them down to paint them.

Hey Glassman, have you thought about doing the headlamp bezels for 73-74 chargers in fiberglass? If the price was right and they could be made to look stock I bet you could sell dozens of them.

Ditto on Doors and Fenders plus it would be awesome for them to repop roof skins, A-Pillars, and upper cowels !

Roof skins and cowl panels are really a no-brainer and would be big sellers.

unchromed front and rear bumpers for '71s and '72s... just raw metal so we can paint to match, paint to contrast.

Simple CHEAP solution: Take chrome bumper, sandblast it, prep it, paint it. Done.

As for the 72 grills, I would buy a repro if it was a quality part and didn't cost a fortune. I doubt they'll make them though. We would be better served having roof skins made available seeing that so many of these cars had vinyl roof options and the penny pinchers that worked for Ma Mopar back then thought they'd save a dime and not paint the roof if it was getting vinyl.
