I am starting a 70 super bee build, I am wondering what parts are going to be hard to find, its a n96 car, I have now...

Car, 440 6 pack with air grabber and ram charger, hood, fenders, doors, radiator, floor jack, all bumpers, seats, console, carpet, headliner, door panels, filler panels, hemi 4 spd, dana 60 354, original wheels, dash and cluster, dash pad, and all the glass...

Am I in for any surprises of impossible to find parts? thanks

I know I am going to need all the fuel and brake lines, all the suspension parts and brake parts, all the door seals, window sweeps, and wiring...

thanks guys, as soon as i get everything pulled in the garage I am going to start a build thread...

It's like any other 1970 Coronet. Damn near everything seems to be available. Everything you show as needs are all available new from various sources.

The 2 hard to replace items are:
Power bulge hood
N96 hood.
I have 2 Power Bulge hoods.
They are pricey if you can find one. $1,200 and up!
Also, the N96 Hood is very pricey. Just the "plastic" ram air ducts and set-up themselves are in the $2,000 dollar range, the total hood set-up can be $3,500.

So; it appears that you have the RARE stuff already.

Thanks guys. where is the best place to find the suspension parts, fluid lines, etc???

I would love an RT, that would be my first pick BUT, I have been looking for one for too long, time to do a Bee... I missed an RT convertible 1970 on ebay a couple months back for $14K, I put the reminder in my phone to bid on it that last day and somehow my math screwed me a day, I would have paid $20K for that shell...

Sounds like you have a good start, it's going to be the little one year only specific parts that will be hard to find. A lot of parts interchange with other 1970 Coronet models, there are not that many survivors for parts cars. Also some of the small interior parts are hard to fiind, like seat latches & seat medallions. As super-bee-ski said, the N96 hood is a tough one to locate.
Finding the parts is part of the fun, otherwise we would all own Mustangs or Camaros, they are easy to restore. And if you go to a show, you more than likely will have the only 70 Bee.

If you need the plastic grilles for the front, a quality set of them can be very hard to find.

I have a decent set of grilles, they are a tough find...

Does anyone know what the console 4spd pistol grip shifter is supposed to look like? I have the short straight one, but someone told me its supposed to be a long curvy one????? Thanks

This would have the longer, curvy shifter. I call that the "dash slammer". Coolest-looking shifter in any Mopar, IMO!

Thank you, of course that is the one I don't have and the more costly of the 2, lol...

Where is the best place to get the suspension part?, Shocks, brake parts, bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, ect ect..

The first order of business is going to be to strip the front end, paint the under carriage and engine bay, then rebuild the front end....

For your suspension try pst they are a sponsor here for fbbo tell them you are member and you get a discount, they have a nice selection of front end rebuild kits.

Thank you, it does seem they have repops available, I need to buy one of these now, or well in the next couple years I take finishing this car....

If you want to go with TOP OF THE LINE --- FRONT END PARTS --- I can give you MOOG across the board except
for the PITMAN ARM -- and a U.S.A. made PITMAN ARM....
Little pricier than the overseas stuff --- but once for life --- and worth it......

Hard to find parts are front grills, front valance, front fenders, bulge or ram air hoods, bumperettes & like someone else already said the side scoops were only on R/Ts but Im thinking of putting some on my 70 Bee if I can find some & at an affordable price, but they are a want & not a need for me. Good luck

What is the price for that?

Update, I spent some money today...

Dropped the block and heads off at the machine shop {906 heads and hp2 block}, paid for the machine work up front {gave me a better deal, engine assembly and all the machine work for $1000, I already had the block magged and cleaned, they are going to reclean it since it has been sitting around a bit...}, He said the bore look good, no ridge stock bore so wee will go +30, I still have to buy the rebuild kit {any suggestions would be helpful, 450hp driver no racing}.

I also bought...
Air box rebuild kit {already have a new heater core and rebuilt blower motor} so I bought the $75 seal kit...
bought the ramcharger decal for my air box
front disc brake package from pirate jacks
all the front end rebuild parts, bushings, tierod ends, etc etc etc {all moog}
front shocks monroes for $30

so I spent like $2500 today and feel like I still need so much more, I want to get the big stuff out of the way, the next big purchases will be seat covers $750, exhaust $750, and the engine rebuild kit $750, then after that there isnt much more to buy that costs more than a couple hundred per part...
