Been a member for awhile

Very interesting color combo.

Factory?

Unassuming tan exterior with vibrant two tone interior.

I've discovered that I like cars with curious and (arguably) tasteful but uncommon options more than cars with a big engine and HIP paint and nothing else.

Got any other interesting options?

YY1..... I thought I had responded to this earlier. Apparently my really great high tech Suddenlink provider doesnt like it since we canceled our cable and only have internet and the service has been poor at best. Anyway the response didnt post.

So the car is a "P" code for premium package and the items I can detect is the side marker lamps, a/c, chrome around the drip rails, map light, shoulder harness with the cool old belt clips by the visor, bucket seats (not split bench) with the buddy seat as another member pointed out and loop style carpeting :sad5: (I didnt know that was premium):laughing3:

You guys could probably tell me more .... but I'm not seeing much...... maybe the woodgrain dash?, padded dash trim?, remote mirror? no clock, definitely no tach with the 318. It will be all original...as much as I LOVE the Roadrunner and GTX and have searched for one for years. THIS for me is a Roadrunner like, but wont be cloned its jut TOO nice and ORIGINAL!!!!!

You can make a 318 run really strong too. Alternately, you can get yourself a 340 or a 360 and maybe even stroke it to over 400 cubes. Paint the engine stock and leave all the under hood items stock, and you will have a real sleeper that has lots of power but looks completely factory...

Hey Hawk

I'm giving the 360 a thought for sure. I've located one in an RV, so I'm hoping the crank will be a 4.00 or better. the price is good enough so I'm going to take my time and build it then considering pulling the 318 and storing it. But today??? I have to admit some mods on the 318 are more likely. yeah its a wishy washy plan for certain.

I HAVE to get you guys some pics. I'm not a big on air-shocks..... but the wife thought she was helping. SO I put them on....dang she has that muscle car look and I haven't even put the new tires and wheels on. The rake now gives you that look down the hood at the road. Pretty cool. and well the car handles BETTER too

Great car - I just responded to your welcome wagon post too.

So the question "Who are best quality part sites" is really broad. Unfortunately, I have found that there are many crappy reproduction parts and quite a few good ones too. I can't offer one universal "good parts" place, but here are a few of my thoughts to get us started:
Seat covers and interior panels: Legendary interior is the absolute number one, and I think for good reason. If you really want good fitting, proper seat covers, they are the place to go to.
Carpet? Honestly not sure - there seem to be many places that sell these. I think Legendary has these too, so maybe you can work out a package price.

For lots of small parts, I have been going to Classic Industries lately. They have some crap too, but most of the general vendors do as well. I don't want to spend your money, but I am a big proponent of replacing the wiring harnesses on these cars. The copper is fine, but the insulation was never intended to last 50 years. Save yourself major hassles (and maybe avoid a fire too) by replacing them. The absolute best are M&H wiring, sold (I believe) exclusively by Year One. Wait for a 30% off sale and snatch the them.

For weather stripping, Metro makes the best stuff, in my opinion.

I am sure others will chime in, but there are a few suggestions to get you started. Now get to work!!!! (smile)

Thank you, just "ATTEMPTED" to order my interior! Per your suggestion it looks as if Legendary will get my business. I want the best for this car. Funny the interior on my car, a 68 Sport Satty... Gold/Gold/Black meaning gold panel inserts/a black welt down the center/Gold outside panels with remaining seat in gold as well. I THINK it looks very cool seeing the old style color....apparently THEY like it too for the pricing and the 4-6 weeks delivery.

Anyway, this "tree find" runs like a top so far...a grimlin here and there...new wheels on her... LET'S RIDE!!!!

If you were closer we could go street race our 318s....

:headbang: yessir indeed! I have to admit I've been testing different things on the car to see what works and doesnt. SO I've got the new 275/60/15's on the back....I stop at a stop sign.... I didnt push it much but a little ....she cant break them. I was giggling to myself welp she's no 375 hp 440 but she DID spring off the line pretty decent for a 240 hp 318.

by the way pretty nice Satty you have there!!!

Got any pics of the whole fleet? She me yours....I'll show you mine. Haha

20150905_162842.jpgWell, i said i would share mine. Here's most of them.

dang boy ya done made me MAD.....LOL! Hey I NEED that 66-7 second from right. HOW LONG have you been hording these? Dont ya know that is a disease????? I'm here on an intervention...... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I'm kinda holding the 67 for a friend right now. He went back to school and is working part time. His dad had one that they worked on together years ago. His dad is gone now and when he heard i might be letting a few go i told him it would be here when he gets back on his feet again and I aim to keep my word on that!
I have been looking and dragging stuff home for many years. Some were too good to pass up and others were on my list to find. My wife and two kids each have a car in there to do as they please with. I will help in the build but they call the shots on how they want em to look and perform.
I may never get them all done but i enjoy them as they are. Reminds me of how i remember them as a teenager in the 80s. Still solid but a little cancer here and there. Some run, some dont, some are #s matching others dont have motors but i have enough big blocks laying around to take care of that little problem. I enjoy just looking at them..

"just looking at them" .... that is just pure art. A museum of your own so to speak. Wifey ask sometimes why I just stand in the garage and drink wine..... just look'n at my cars honey...just look'n at my cars!"

I drug the Caddy over to one of my shops today. On the way I pass a guy with a bicycle, he was balancing a tv on the seat I suppose to get it home.

People can explain this away in many ways. I look at my gifts and I feel blessed compared to that guy.
