Hey all, I picked up a 1969 charger last week that is surprisingly orginal, factory white with a blue bucket seat interior. The only messing around anyone seems to of done with it is it has a set of orange '70 buckets in it. That all being said the car needs help, the quarters could use replaced as well as the tail panel and just some other surface rust here and there, interior all needs revamped exc exc.

Which leads to my question, according to the build sheet it is a factory 383 2bbl base trim level charger, also came with HD suspension with a front sway bar(unrelated but to cool not to mention)

The orginal engine is still in the car and seems to be in great shape, should either replace the 2bbl on it with a 4bbl, as well as HP exhausted manifolds to keep a stock look but more smiles when you put the pedal to the floor, or should I keep her as ordered with the 2bbl intake and manifolds?

Thats entirely up to you. If you want a totally stock car keep it that way. My 69 Sport Sat has exactly the same engine as your car.. I opted to keep the two barrel and i am installing a single exhaust from Waldron exactly the way it came from the factory. I do have a pair of HP exhaust manifolds and a factory four barrel manifold plus a 8 1/4 355 sure gripe waiting in the wings in case i need a little more push LOL

4 barrel. Headers. Pictures.

I would go with the 4bbl and aftermarket intake, headers, cam or whatever you want. Just don't throw anything away. That way if you decide to sell later, you can throw in all of the original stuff with it. I doubt that it's a real rare combination so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Wrench on it, drive it, and have fun with it.

Oh yeah, factory AC. AirTemp.

Build it the way you want it and enjoy, just keep the original parts around IF you decide to sell.

I agree with smitty. I would want to enjoy the car and the additional power but keep all the original stuff. He's right on.

I agree, keep all the parts but have fun with it. At the end of the day a 2 barrel, stock manifolds and intake are lame. Go 4 barrel, new intake, good set of headers. And a nice came to waker her up.

Do ya want to smoke the tires or just squeak em?
