Even after 9 years I still love my Daytona

Back in the old days, you traded a car in every 3 years before it started falling apart and if it car had 80K miles on it, it was ready for the junkyard. Now, 125-200K miles is the norm even for the lowliest POS.

300,000 on my daily driver truck . . .

I'm at 252,000 in my 2007 Ram 1500.

Funny thing to me is that people in the US think about the magic of the 6 digit figure as well as people in Germany do. The only difference is that 100.000 miles are 160.000 kilometres or 100.000 kilometres are 62.500 mls. So who is right....?:confused2:

Our poor ole beater we use around town is a 96 concord 214000 miles runs great still getting 28-30 MPG. Has never had an issue and just a little 3.1 V6. I would trust it anywhere.

My 71,318, satellite only had about 50,000 miles showing. Only I knew it was on it's third time around.

Help me out. I have a Honda CR-V we bought with 9000 on it. It's a 2006, now has 123k on it. Runs and looks as good as when it had 9k. My wife wants to sell it and buy an Audi or Range Rover suv. I want to keep the Honda for at least another 100k. I bring up all the stories about cost of ownership and depreciation and all the rest - she's got it in her head the others look more "cool". No practical logic at all to her thinking. What do I do.........?

Hang on to your wallet. I'm done with new cars. An Audi will cost a fortune. The Rover has the worst reliability reputation of any vehicle. Linda talks about a new car, no way. The tags and insurance here in California will kill ya. A guy I work with is lookin at trucks. 50 Grand. Nuts. I'll die with what I own now.

That would be a monumental mistake.

That Honda is barely broken in!

When properly maintained, any Honda will last 300000+ miles without blinking an eye....

Get quotes on servicing one of those vehicles. You can't even do oil changes easily. They cost a fortune to maintain and are still just depreciating assetts. Foolish. Of course, no more foolish than building hemi superbirds....

When that Honda hits 300,000, it will still need to go another 45K to keep up with my 99 Chrysler LHS. 3.5 engine has had a timing belt and water pump replacement at around 130K, (probably needs another now) and the transmission has never been apart except for a oil & filter change. It has gone through a few sets of brake pads and one front wheel bearing though along with both velocity joints.

We've had 3 CR-V's first was an 02 we had 325000 on it if memory serves. It still ran like a top, the cat was worn out, but no smog around here to pass. 2nd had 90k and we got our buck tag filled with it. now we have a 13. We looked at new but all of em have the the dreaded cvt trans and complaints are all over on the 15-16s

We have 98 olds intrigue that my son has at school here in MI. 3800 gm motor is one of the best they made purrs like a kitten with 150,000 on it. unfortunately the body and underside about to rust away. It just needs to last 5 or 6 months until my son Graduates and we can figure out a new used car for him.
My 02 exploder also has 150K but a bad trans that I've had rebuilt twice and may now have a bad converter. But the 4.6 ltr is running great and the body is in great shape. I'll get the tranny fixed or see if it can be swapped for a newer one that been redesigned. I can't swing $40-50k for something new.
When I get my Coronet on the road next spring, it'll help extent the miles on the Ford and I can drive it into the ground like the Olds.
