You ever think about bringing your wife and the car back to that same spot and snap another pic? I like sentimental stuff like that...
A gentleman I sold a z28 to about 2 years ago, told me a story I will share, he bought a brand new 67 camaro for $2600 (it was a left over, bought it when he came home from military). The first time he took the car out to a movie theater on a friday night he went to the movies alone and met a girl, they didnt see the same movie but he noticed her walking in the theater alone and noticed her waiting outside the ticket booth alone after the move, he said it was warm when the movie started but cold when it got out, and he had the top down on the car since he bought it (must have been much different times when you could leave your top down go watch a movie and not worry). Anyway he said she looked cold so he walked over to start up a conversation, turned out she had been stood up, never even watched a movie and was waiting for a friend to give her a ride home that wasnt showing up..
He gave her a ride home, BUT couldnt figure out how to get the top locked down so had to drive with the top down, PROBLEM WAS it was sprinkling a bit and he went to cover her with his jacket but the jacket flew out of the back of the car, he had to pull over and run back to get the jacket, by the time he got back she figured out the top and had it locked down, lol..
ANYWAY, they get married, have 2 kids, he almost had to sell the car a few times as he explained it, but she would never let him, I wish the story had a happy ending but she passed 15 years before I met him, after she passed he started collecting camaros, and last time I spoke with him he was up to 6 and still has that (unrestored, original condition) 67 convertible. I seen the car, its in great shape, a bit faded, top is not original, but seat covers, carpet, etc is, I told him if he ever wanted to freshen it up I could give him a hand in my shop, he said "I wouldnt dare, them are the seats we sat on together, thats the back seat my son was strapped into coming home from the hospital"...
I think I am going to go give him a call, see how he is doing...
