Weatherstrip adhesive with door seals or just little barb hooks?

Soon to install door seals on '72 SSP project car. Did the factory use weatherstrip adhesive in addition to all of those little barb hooks? Thank you.

they only used the barbs.
i'm getting to be a pro at removing it without any damage
i could take one off completely intact in a few minutes..
