My car turned out to be so much MORE than I thought it would or even could be so don't get me wrong about this thread. Now that I have over 5000 miles on it, there are some "things" I have noticed and become familiar with and it got me to wondering how others feel about these "things" now that your car is on the road.
How many of you have one or two of these "things" that are either a "I would do it different next time" or " I would use a different product", or........whatever.

In my case, it is the Poly carbonate bushings. I know they are what they are and there just weren't other options in some cases, however, these things make all kinds of noise until it all gets warmed up, at which time they are nice and quiet. Kind of sounds like a rattle trap for the first few blocks.
Considering how radical my build was, I feel pretty fortunate that is my only real beef!

Yours is incredible. I could live with the sqeaky polyurethane bushings easily! Once I have a project that gets done I will certainly post on this thread!

The biggest problem with my builds is always the nut that holds the wheel. I can never figure out why???

Yes. A project is never done. As well I never put enough thought or research in before hand. That caused so many mistakes and as a result I spent money foolishly. Flash forward had I researched more I would have saved on the build as well would have done things very different.

I have Bias ply tires........I feel everything from the road, lol.

That i ever sold it....dint build it, but did do some reengineering. Paint & Body refinish along with.
I think a pretty decent 'practice canvas'....i tink.......

Can't wait until I get some miles on the X this summer. Then I'll be able to tell. There were a number of things I didn't think through clearly and spent unnecessary money on. I'll find out soon. She looks great - need to put on some miles.

I don't have a build. 28 year owner evolution. It's all about reliability and taking care of things as they arise so the list does not pile up. Lengthy downtime is a no no.

In Aircraft, that is known as AOG.....aircraft on ground......corporates cant handle AOG.....a Gulfstream is so expensive to operate, house, maintain....that only the pinnacle of the super wealthy dont keep the Birds busy doing charter, to offset costs of ownership.....one of those birds can use a couple thousand lbs of jet-a just getting to the runway.

Oh god, don't get cr8crshr on his soapbox about this, I think he still can't make up his mind, and he's pretty much done.

I must come & see K

Yup, builds get out of hand easy. Bugs are simple in nature, but still, start close to zero, they can still be overwhelming @ moments, if one is trying to get anywhere close to 90 point

I know! I have been reading about this build for some time now and have yet to see it! Sure hope he FINALLY drags it up to Mopars in the Park in June.

Letting my wife drive it. :BangHead:
ROFLMFAO!! 'nuf said.....Dig it, i found a really smart, independent Woman Friend, does all kind of ****.......She knows what spaghetti exhaust is, heim joints, close tolerance, cut outs, coil over, an fittings......dont have to expain dick to Her! Never in my Life have i experienced this....like f-in x mas.

With the size of your ride I would replace the Bias-Ply with a set of Radials. However keep the Bias- Ply's for when showing it and all. But those things are so dangerous and bad...IMHO...that I would rather be safe than sorry. Just sayin' is all...cr8crshr/Tuck:usflag:

Mines far from done...
too many irons in the fire, budget constraints now too
anyway;
I'd do a different fuel system now,
I was contemplating a F&B 6bbl EFI,
I stuck with my modified 2300 2bbl carbs instead,
I'd go to an in-tank pump too...

the other one is the bolt-on Unisteer Rack & pinion, way back in 2005ish
it drives/steers really good now, had a bit of bump steer before, but
way to limited on exhaust/header or oil pan options too
{I'll do custom step & upswept headers, with a merge 4-2-1 collectors now anyway}
If I was to do it again I'd have done a front steer custom rack & pinion,
, fab it up myself, I still may, just sell the rear steer Unisteer R&P
big $$$ hit to take thou, I may just live with it, issues aren't a big deal...

the worst part is losing steam on my progress, everyone else's problems I take care of & mostly because of budget constraints
{too many elderly family stuff, paying off a bunch of student loans & car funds are tight now}
not that big of a deal, but it's making me frustrated as hell, to not be able to finish it in a timely manner...

I wish I'd have painted 10 years ago, when I 1st purchased it, finished some of the body stuff, it'd look a lot better, even if it's not bad, just make me feel it's that much father off...LOL
but I was in for the long haul, I had a couple other projects builds, house stuff & construction stuff, going at the same time...

I'll finish it some day, if it's ever finished, is more accurate, never satisfied...

I just fire her up & drive around the neighborhood or take it up the mountain to my aunts place, I feel better for a while...

Such if life you get lemons, you just make lemonade...
It's not like it's a life changing thing, well sort of...LOL

WWWWHHHHAAAATTTT!!!!:wtf: I made up my mind already!!! It ain't finished yet to my liking. :BangHead::BangHead: And the sad part is I have really lost most interest in it. :realcrazy: Sad I know but just no more motivation to get to the end result. Fun to say I did it and kept it this long but it's just a car and they easy come easy go. Really at an anti-climactic stage right now. :(

I hear ya Darius. Talk is cheap and by rights I should bring it up to the Cap City Show. Just not into them as I once ways. Besides this ol' Load is ready for the Camping Trailer and to hit the road in it. So the only way is to sell it and get the RV...cr8crshr/Tuck:usflag:
