I have a 440, that one day will be in my 67' Bel. I have a pair of the HP exhaust manifolds, that are date coded for a 78'. In my research, I have found there is a difference in the transmission dip stick tube. It apparently is because of these HP manifolds. Have you guys found this to be true ? Anyone know where I can find this tube, or would the none HP tube work ? Or should I settle for one of these flexible after market ones ?

Thanks

I can't think of any HP manifolds date coded for 1978. Do you have casting numbers or, better yet, photos?

Maybe I should have said 68'. Sorry...

Transmission and oil dipstick should both be outside of the exhaust manifold...if that helps.

Strange...69 model 440 w/hp manifolds, my oil tube is between the head and manifold, and it was listed as the correct dip stick/tube. Any rate, it works.
