So has anyone used one of these? Do I need it? Also can I attach it to a hose clamp instead of the metal of the sending unit where the gas line attaches to?

It depends on if you already get a good ground to your fuel gauge. Some cars the fuel gauge won't work without that ground. It should be long enough to clamp on the fuel sending unit nipple and the metal fuel line. IE: outside the rubber fuel line on each side.

If you clamp it to the hose clamp it will do no good, as the clamp is on the rubber.. no ground to chassis that way.

ok cause I really pushed my 5/16th line onto my 3/8 fuel sending outlet and there was no pulling it off and no metal left to clamp on. Also what is the other outlet on the sending unit for?

That's for a fuel return line. I noticed you used the new lock ring that came with the new sending unit. They don't tighten up enough and most of the time you will have a leak around the gasket. If you have the original lock ring use it instead.

The car's gas tank was out of it with no sending unit or lock ring or anything. What do I do with that fuel return line I dont seem to have anything to hook it to?

Bad gauge for 25 years. Valaya Racing put in a seperate ground and this is the result. First time ever to read full.

You can use one of the rubber caps for vaccum lines, clamp it though so it does not slip off. Did you re use the original lock ring?

Didnt have the original locking ring. When i bought the satellite its gas tank was out, rusted, missing the sending unit, and the ring

MOPARMITCH has some oem lock rings. Change it out or the gas will seep out and always the fuel smell.

Is he on the boards or do i need to google him. It was very tight getting it in and ill need to drop the tank again right?

So the gas tank being brand new as well as the ring will still make a difference? I had to buy a brand new tank as the tank that was out of the car was full of rust, pin holes, and the radiator shop stated that it would have most likely had too many holes to fix. So I bought a new one from spectra and that is what is in the car atm.

when I cap that outlet can I use the rest of the metal to put the grounding strap on?

yep you sure can

Kewl as I don't have room on the fuel line itself. I figured out what happened and why my sending unit has the fuel return line. I ordered a fuel sending unit for a 440 which is the engine in my car but originally it had a 6cyl and is set up to that. Also my carb or fuel pump isnt set up for a return line
