Don't know who's heard about this "rape" case. http://www.ijreview.com/2016/06/624...aign=ods&utm_term=ijamerica&utm_content=crime

There's all this uproar over a Stanford freshman Brock Turner who was sentenced to six months in jail after being found guilty on three felony charges of sexually assaulting a young woman on campus. When I first read this story, and the reports made by the guys who detained him until the police arrived, I thought this punishment was definitely way too little.

Then I read what the felony charges of sexual assault were, and they all dealt with some form of relations with an unconscious person. At first, it sounded like he had knocked her out, but then it turns out she was frigging plastered from drinking at a party!

So what this story really boils down to is two underage, irresponsible, ******** drink too much at a party, get plastered, decide to take their business outside, and one of them passes out. Sorry, but to me that irresponsibility, not rape.

Not in my book. When both parties are drunk, there's no consent to be given or received. The notion of consent is only applicable when there's someone reasonably able to use it.

Totally disagree, a real man would only ever want consented sex so if she was unconscious then it's rape in my book and the SOB needs his penis cut off. Sorry but I have absolutely no remorse for anybody that takes advantage of another person in a sexual way.
Question for all you fellas. Your at a party and a smoking hot chick passes out... what do ya do? If your any man at all you watch guard until she's conscious and make sure it never happens! Not enough men left in the world.

Mr B,why do you print this? Nobody cares whats in your book. So here we go again with you trying to justify some idiot version of what you think is right and wrong. Lest see now some kid is drunk at a party and stumbles upon some drunk girl whose half passed out. Sure the kid is drunk but not drunk enough and he takes her clothes off and molest's her and penetrates her. You think thats just fine and dandy,no problem right. But the bigger question is why do i bother to get involved with idiotic postings

Once again... the notion of consent only applies when one of the parties is able to give it and one of the parties is able to receive it. This was a case where both parties were drunk off their asses, one literally. So how do you assess a wrongful act when you have two people who are acting irresponsibly and who are not of sound mind? In my book, you can't. It would be totally different if the girl were drunk and the guy sober, but that wasn't the case.

Well Steve, apparently a judge agrees with me. :)

So how do you determine, after the fact, that a guy is "drunk enough" to know what he's doing? Drunk people are total idiots, and this gal was just as much an idiot as this guy.

His father has the audacity to tell the Judge: "His son's life should not be ruined for 20 minutes of action"

-Is that what he called this? 20 minutes of action?
The victim, 23 awoke beaten and bloodied on a Ambulance Gurney!

So if you fall down, hit your head and are unconscious, and somebody rapes you, it's ok?

I'm always dubious when I hear stories where a victim initially says they went to a party, started drinking heavilly, and then woke up with no memory of what happened after they started drinking, then later on make a comment like "I was pummeled with narrowed, pointed questions that dissected my personal life, love life, past life, family life, inane questions, accumulating trivial details to try and find an excuse for this guy who had me half naked before even bothering to ask for my name.” Ah... how do you know he had you half naked before asking your name when you initially told the police you were so drunk you couldn't remember anything???

No, but if you go get falling down drunk, and hook up with someone else who's falling down drunk, and you pass out first, it shouldn't be rape.

I just read the police report, and she was not bloodied. There was no sign of any violence at all.

It's STANFORD! These are supposed to be the finest students in America, not some crappy low ball institute of cosmetology.
I hope they both get expelled for derelict behavior unbecoming to the University.

Look its like this, these kids lack judgment skills and its partially because of there up bringing. Parents defend the son because he was drunk and the girl was drunk so no problems. Well there is a problem because the young man was not that intoxicated that he couldn't get a erection, undress the female and complete vaginal penetration,to say nothing if he had half a brain to use a condom. If you teach your young son whose about to leave home for the first time on what to do and not what to do and maybe just a little respect for a woman,we'd have a whole lot less of theses problems. The same holds true for females and there parents. The girls want to party? Well party with at least one sober friend and never let your friends wander off. Never get that drunk you loose control over your body, thats the most important thing.

I don't give a Rat's *** if both of them were drunk. The Guy wasn't drunk enough to think with the wrong head. It was a clear VIOLATION of this girls rights. If it was my daughter, I would have had a come to Jesus discussion with that bastard and then God knows what else. Someone should have had the decency to watch out for their friend.

It must not have been a "legitimate rape" (talking about the ex congressman)

I think a broken knee cap is in order..... but that's just me...

It helps to have a judge, that's from your school Stanford too
{supposed big supporter}

what I take from it there's bias in the courts system,
whether it be race, religion, sex etc.
{like the Trump case}

Not sure what really happened,
where they messing around before, he entered her & she passed out during ????
I'm sure there's stuff we or the court didn't know/hear too, there's always more to it...
I'm sure she wasn't totally innocent either, doesn't excuse the act thou...

BUT; as a father or several girls/young women now,
I'd be pissed as all hell if it happened to or was one of mine...

I'm not a lawyer either, I don't claim to be a know it all
about the laws or guidelines, as to sentencing either,
there's been a ton of conjecture on the news thou...
So I can't re-sight the letter of the law, what technically constitute rape,
IMO ******* her, while she's passed out or incapacitated,
is rape non consenting sex, or a really horrible/disgusting act, if nothing else

he should be expelled/kicked out of Stanford too IMO
