Opinions On This Car - 1967 Coronet 440

What do you guys think of this car?

No it does not have a Hemi in it.

What is the correct stripe for the rear? I didn't see many cars on Google with any stripe at all.
 
I would be embarrassed to drive it. How could you take it to a cruise night with HEMI emblazoned across the tail and you can't open the hood where the 383 (or 318) would be all too apparent.
 
I'm very partial to 66/67 B bodies and I hate the rear stripe a few put on.The car looks straight in the pics and a lot of work was put in for the charger grill/lights/frontend...always thought the hideaways should of been on the R/T's in 67. Has the 500 tail panel...looks like oversized wheels...depending on condition of frame/floors/trunk...I'd say 12k plus or minus
 
A Coronet 440 with R/T tail lights, hidden headlights, R/T fender badge, and maybe even a slant six but certainly no Hemi despite one being advertised .... Who would do this? If your going to clone a 440 to make a R/T, then go all the way. My opinion!

I have a 1967 Coronet 440 I'm restoring and converting from slant six to a 440 big block (I know it wasn't an option in 67) .

Curious, what engine and tranny are in this mixture of a car?

loose the stripe, needs a nice set of 15" wheels and tires.
 
I like it. You might what to do some research, I believe that may have been built south of the border. That is not the first one built with a charger grill assembly and the 500/RT trunk panel. Check out forum member Ruby67, he has a 67 coronet with the same grill and trunk treatment. Enjoy your car!

The OP is from Mexico. Pic looks like Mexico too.

The drivers door looks like it needs some fine tuning. I like the color.

The came e that from the factory with the spin around head lights.

I haven't bought the car yet but it is a V8. I saw a video where the owner started it up. The car sounds great.

In the video he was more interested in playing with the radio instead of showing the options on the car, but that is what some modern day owners think is important.

I agree about the stripe, but I am not sure I can get somebody to match the paint to make it look like it was never there.

I think 15" Magnum 500s would look great on this car.

The car is in Mexico, as well as I am, and still sporting it's San Luis Potosi plates.

I will be in that area next week so I want to go see it.

He wants the equivalent of around $5000.00 dollars for it, so I think it is a great deal. The car has no air though. That would have to be fixed.

I wouldn't be surprised f the owner doesn't know what a hemi is.

I went to a car show here in Mexico once and there was a 1970 Ford that had a cut off roof. It was a 4 door and they had stitched into the seats the word Galaxy on the head rests or the top of the seats.

Turns out the car was a base model Custom. Not only did he cut the roof off of a 4 door, he spelled the name wrong, which should have been Galaxie, but it wasn't even a Galaxie, but a Custom.

I held my tongue and let him believe he had a Galaxy Convertible.

There is this mania for putting the cars name on the seats and I hate it.

Any car I buy with that will immediately get changed.

Another guy stitched into the seat of his 1973 Monte Carlo the word Montecarlo.

The tail & hood stripes are hideous and the driver's door alignment is bad. I would believe that with more detailed pictures the worse it would get.
 
While everyone here knows that I dig the Charger headlight set up on the Coronets what I don't like is the stripes and small wheels, false advert, and these things raise red flags with me. I would have to do a very detailed inspection of the whole car underneath and inside before shelling out that many clams for it. Nice paint can hide a ton of issues.

not just modern day....I remember sitting in the parking lot of a local department store in my newly purchased first car installing my newly purchased am/fm/cassette player back in the early '80s. good luck with the car, Magnums would look great.

For $5000, I think it's a great deal also.
