I have a 1962 Dodge Polar with a 383 with max wedge upswept headers. See picture. I have put disc brakes on the front. The problem is the new dual master cylinder will hit the LH exhaust manifold. The old fruit jar master cylinder only has >1/2 inch clearance.
What are the solutions?
1. Can I move the M C up on the firewall. App. 1/2 inch or so.

2. Does any one make side step M C?

3. Get rid of the Max Wedge manifold and replace with an stock manifold.
a. What year?
4. It looks like a set of tube headers would be cheaper than an old manifold.

That's a bummer. Gotta keep those Max Wedge manifolds. Why not go with manual discs?

Yeah, that's an issue. I agree to keep the manifolds if at all possible since they look so cool. You "might" be able to find a much newer, small, plastic master cylinder that would work. You might ask on the "race section" here or over at moparts.com. I know a lot of guys that drag race use newer, smaller master cylinders on their cars.

If finding a different mc doesn't work out, you could use stock manifolds or even headers.

Were the manifolds that you have now original to the car?

BTW, nice '62

1. Need a dual master.
2. MP offset plate still made? Mancini's?
3. manual brakes

Just my opinion.
oh, and the manifolds have to stay!

I had interference with the valve cover and the power brake assembly on my 428 powered F100 I put some washers on the booster to firewall bolts on the side closest to the engine. Gave me just enough room. Couldn't tell it was done like that. A couple washers at the firewall will give you more than you think.

Well the RAM MAN.Inc is the $h1t. I got my disc brake conversion from them. After I finally got thru to them what exhaust manifold I was working with we were going to go to manual brakes. Wayne came up with this set up for an A-Body with a hemi. I has a dog leg that sets it up about 1 1/2 inches.

those exhaust manifolds are so very rare , i'm glad you went another way on your master set up . but most of the early hot rod factory street racers , don't come with power brakes . even disc cars .

How about a brake booster bracket from a power brake hemi car? Will raise booster several inches.
Thought the ramman made them? I can valve cover off by just removing throttle and return spring bracket. Heard he had issues as noted in earlier post.

Yes, that is what the Ram Man came up with. They are a first class operation. So glad I chose to go their route.

Finished the conversion. I had to replace all the lines. But that is OK, they needed it. I had to make the ones from the Master Cylinder to the splitter block.
The A Body booster works OK. This engine makes maybe 10 inches of vacuum at Idle and that is enough for this booster. I am happy and I have my Up-swept Manifolds and power brakes. Thanks to the Ram Man.Inc.

Have you thought about a heat shield under master and lines?
Looks good.
