Future of Late (75-79) B-bodies ?

What's funny, is TECHNICALLY you aren't "supposed" to alter any emissions-affecting parts anywhere in the US on 68-newer.....
I told the inspector that it had no engine or exhaust in it when I picked up the car. --- PASSED ----

There's no testing in my state for those cars either, but its still illegal to cut the cats off of any post 75 car and no shop will do it.

Yet TTI sells manifold back or header back catless exhaust for 75-79 B-bodies.

And you can add your own cats to that system if you really wanted to!

that's interesting what you said about 4 doors..but now that I think about it, very true. The younger generation does not have the same stigma about 4 doors as us older guys...and they are becoming more popular.
On behalf of the young guys (I'm only 19), We would love to have a 60's 2 dr muscle car with 500+ horse. But that's obviously not an option, due to ridiculously high prices of the cars and the cost of living today. Many of us have given up hope (not me) and just drive 4 door econoboxes everyday. Not because they're desirable... but they're affordable.

I think it's utter horse-**** that a 69 Charger shell w/o a title will sell for 10 grand. And these later cars can be had for 5, in perfect running condition. It all comes down to money. I was lucky enough to score a complete 1973 Charger hardtop in a field... for 500 bucks. If I had missed out on that, I'd have a later B body like a 75 Roadrunner... or a later Aspen R/T.

$500! Nice score!
Better yet it doesn't have much rust at all. Just was beat up on back in the day... Quarter panel full of bondo, and front fenders smashed in. All of which I have replacements for! Gonna do all the bodywork and paint myself, after I finish tech school next year.

I'm not sure how many options are being tracked by this registry, or the related 1979 Chrysler 300 Owners Group on Facebook. Mine has the following:
  1. Power windows
  2. Power door locks
  3. Tilt steering wheel
  4. Cornering lights
  5. Power trunk release
Not sure if original ownership is being tracked by the Facebook group. I'm the original owner of SS22L9R175143 and I still have it.

Thanks!

The list doesn't keep track of ownership as it changes hands. It's cool that you are still in a one owner car! I'm the 2nd owner of mine and had it since 1982.

I am the one who started the registry list of VINs but when I sold my '79 300 this past summer I passed the list to James Scaglione who can be found on the 1979 Chrysler 300 Owners Group on Facebook that I also created! James just posted an updated list the other day too so definitely go check it out and make sure your VIN is listed!
