So Many threads out there. Lots of good ones but i want to talk about the Unicorns. The 62s a year that was one of a kind. The year that looked different depending on it was an early model or late year model. Some guys are purest i'm not into matching numbers but that's my opinion and probably has to do with the fact that my dad put a 383 in mine 50 plus years ago. I just put 4 wheel disc and i am making mine a little more modern. Last year I traveled 1200 miles to Carlisle only find a grand total of 5 62s and only one convertible (that's what i have) I go to the occasional car show plenty of late 60s there but rarely any 62s may find one at Garlits in two weeks but no convertibles. I would love some pictures and here some stories. I only have one reference when i have a question and that's Joe Suchy and i know hes tired of getting emails from me. I would like to create a community for those of us who still have or love and can share knowledge of 62 Mopars.

My fav car of all time... 62 dodge 413 MW ...one day! Can’t wait to read this thread once it gets going

Someday I will have a 62-65 B body. I just love the style of these cars. The 62 has leftover style ftom the late 50's cars. They are different, quirky, and cool all wrapped into one. P&S, I think you have a Fury correct? Let's see some photos of that baby!

My all time favorite is a 62 Savoy.Hell I want one that is a 225 with a three on the tree !!!!!
Mike,I got a 63 Fury you might like...................

I bet I would. I started out wanting a 65 Coronet but it looks a lot like my 66 Dart. I really like the 64 Dodges but heck, I love em' all.

This thread needs some photos of 62's.

I happened into some money about seven years ago. It wasn't enough to pay the mortgage down to make a difference so I started to think about some kind of an investment. So doing some searching for an early "B" body I came across this '62 Polara 500. Not my favorite but it's definitely a unique vehicle.

This car was bought new in California, spent most of its life in Oregon. Being rust free to me is more than half the battle so that was the contributing factor to purchase it. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. The more research I did on it, the more interesting it became. So much history for just one car. I don't think there are too many other vehicles that compare.

I did an evaluation on it and over the past seven years, I collected parts. If I could find a better tail light that had less pitting, I'd buy it. Some pieces around the grill had damage, I'd buy those pieces, and so on.

I've only been able to start working on it for just over a year now and it's been an interesting venture. I've had plenty of time to think about what I wanted when it was all done. Also being on a budget, you have to draw the line on just how much you're going to put into it. So I decided to build a tribute to the sixties racing days. Old school look and feel for that era. I grew up working on these and other newer seventies muscle cars, frequenting the tracks back then and even racing a '64 Polara for several years.

I guess you could say that we were made for each other, so the story continues. This coming year should be the year to go out and have some fun with it. Over the winter I need to get the front seats upholstered, headliner replaced and new carpet. The mechanical part is pretty much done now and that is what I was wanting to accomplish first. I'm not too worried about all of the cosmetics, leaving some patina is something that the car has earned over the years and I'll plan on keeping that look for the time being.

Here's my build thread.

I like what you're doing and how you're doing it. A similar story to my 66 Dart I have owned, enjoyed, and improved for 10+ years. tmm
