Fun thread do you think I’m crazy?

I'm approching 67 and want to go drag racing again really bad but doubt that's going to happen.....unless some one does something about my soon to be X....but even if she remarries, I doubt she's going to be lenient on me.

Go for it Cranky. After I bought my ex a new house, I bought myself an old race car and never looked back. Best move I ever made. Had so much fun and met so many great people I eventually upgraded.

By the time she gets paid for 1/2 the house and 1/2 of the IRA, there won't be anything left to talk about.....

Cranky thought ali-money ended if she remarried?
Won't be any alimony. Wouldn't be able to afford it if there was....

My '77 Cordoba has a factory AM/FM-8 track and still works. Yes, every once in a while I throw a tape in and listen. Can't match the tech of today but its like living in the moment from 40 years ago.....driving and listening to the music that was cool back at that time.

OK I am in my mid-50s never thought I would make it this far but hey here I am. So I got this silly idea that I think can be easily made into reality that will for fill my nostalgic desires for this car. I think I’m going to put an eight track player in and find me some doors tapes. Am I crazy? Or can you dig it?

Had to take a photo of the Lear Jet 8-Track in the '73 Jensen Interceptor

Could not help it recently purchased the May 1968 Playboy magazine issue because of an article on the Lake Geneva club that I went to back on the early 70’s. Found a Ford GT500 add as well as so many other cool things. Like this

I also remember the cassettes when they came out you had to pop them out to play the other side and then they came out with the auto sensing tape to play one side and then change directions then play the other side ,boy are we changing in technology now days

Thanks for making me feel young:poke:. When I was very young I bought a Bon Jovi record only because my dad had a record player, 8 tracks were gone and tapes had already taken over followed by CD's. I don't miss any of them and love the new options where your not forced to buy 10 crappy songs for 2 good ones. All I listen to now is Pandora.

All I remember about those "good ol" 8 tracks is that just about the time you were really into a song it would stop and you'd hear this k-thud while it changed tracks and ruined the whole song.
Like, when you were in the back seat of your car with your girl listening to the Eagles?

ya man, make with the pics of the Interceptor!! lol

:xscuseless:

Grant me the courage to change the things I can...The courage to accept the things I cannot change...And above all the wisdom to know the difference Great quote!

That quote is missing a passage-

... and not to change things just because I can- to know what doesn't need changing-

to Prather-

Rocky mountain hiiiiiiiieeeeeegh

I say do it, 8 tracks are cool in these cars!

I had an underdash 8 track in the GTX back in the day, used to have an empty one with a piece of the tape scotch taped in front to make it look usable but inside was the weed and papers.
Still have a home 8 track player and a bunch of tapes I haven't listened to in ages.
