I wanted to clean off all paint from a used small block before re-painting using whatever I had around the house. First tried industrial acetone I purchased in a glass quart bottle and then I experimented with mineral spirits. Both products just spread that orange paint all around more than removing it. Then I brought out a spray can of "graffiti remover" I had never used and that did the trick. It seems to be lacquer thinner in a spray can, but I can't be sure.

I worked for a window/door manufacturing company and we used the same product with that name.It came from a industrial supply. Good stuff. Haven't heard "Graffiti Remover" in a long time.Good for paint, glue and more.

Was that manufactured by Pro Soco. They have a full line of graffiti removal and cleaning products.
