Why MY State is Beautiful

Rather than point out the faults, which can be done to ANYBODY's state, let's mention a few things we like about our state we live in. As a native NY'er, I loved the beautiful Jones Beach, Fire Island, upstate Catskills, Lake George, Niagra Falls, among many other places including the best skyline of anywhere, Manhattan. In Jersey, of course the shore, the farmlands, the northwest highlands. I love Pennsylvania and California, let's hear from the natives what they like about their places, eh? And , of course, those in the many other states !

What I love about my state. Fresh air, lots of nature and wildlife, hospitable people, birth place of America's music (blues, country, rocknroll), good food, cheapest cost of living, rich history, the natchez trace, old man river. My second fave state is Colorado

There are so many things that come to mind about Tx. The terrain varies so much from swamps, salt flats to rolling hils and even small mountains out west. High deserts up in the panhandle
I really love the Live Oak prairies with the rolling hills, Texas Hill Country is probably my favorite though up in the Edwards Plateau. Many clear spring fed streams, caves and waterfalls...
We have some decent beaches down south but nothing like Fla & of course the closest beach to me looks like a mud hole...
The bridge is in Austin and where I used to wakeboard, the water fall is Hamiltons Pool, used to be an old rancher that owned it years ago, he would let you come swim for $5 a car, we would jump off the cliff which was about 40'...it's now a state park...no jumping allowed...

I love California because its 80 degrees in mid January and I can fire up the Dodge and drive it whenever I feel like it.

I travel alot down south of the border.. I dont do larger populated areas.. but the country side you all have to offer for us to see is outstanding.. I cant get enough of it.. every year something new to go too and see..

And, how about we add what we like about another state ? I'll start with ... OHIO !! Having gone to the Nats in Columbus for many years, I recall the first time when they came back there in 98. After driving through the eastern hill country, I enjoyed the flat terrain of the beautiful farmlands. And, of course, NTR.

Having been to San Diego several times, and lived there briefly, it is indeed the place for great weather. I recall the first time there over winter/holiday break. I was a kid, and thought the warm weather on Christmas/ New Years was strange !! How could it not be COLD ?? I loved Mission beach and Pacific beach at sunset.

And the Houston area is also known for the great hurricanes and tropical storms that dump a kazillion tons of water in a short period of time. Then when the weather is nice during the summertime, the humidity is 400% and the temps are high enough to fry eggs on the hood of your car. Winter time the temps range from well below normal to well above normal and usually does that within a couple of days time or so. Hey, Mike, did I forget anything!??

Lol, when I was in Austin a buddy had a 10000 acre ranch in Thorndale on the San Gabriel river, anyway we used to go bird and not hunting all the time. All he asked was that we bring a case of Lone Star.... I would usually bring about 4 cases...the best $10 I spent!

I haven't been but to a handful of states, I loved Colorado so much that I moved there for a while, New Mexico was just as beautiful. I'm not a flat lander and usually despise it but Florida was really nice, Missippi reminds me a lot of East Texas Piney woods which was nice. Really like the hills in northern Alabama and Georgia.
But of all the places I've been, I was probably the most shocked/impressed of what I saw in Massachusetts it was gorgeous....although people were passing out due to the heat wave , 85deg...
Really want to check out upstate NY/VT/NH & Maine one day...

MA/RI (live in one and work and have properties in another) Cape Cod is beautiful, Martha's Vineyard is the birthplace of the Jaws movies ( greatest horror movie of all time) and we have swap meets and huge flea markets everywhere. A lot of old rusty gold here. A lot of good forests and country settings. Plus everything is just a few miles away. Short drives for anything.
