Why MY State is Beautiful

I love it where I live. If anybody has visited the Nats coming in from the West you've seen the ugliest that Ohio has to offer lol. I 77 is where it becomes home for me, rolling hills, farmland scattered everywhere, wildlife and dense forest are abundant along with a lack in daily hussle.

My home is nestled on the side of a valley surrounded by huge sandstone boulders with a pond to one side and a creek running threw the fields making it a very relaxing place to be with plenty of freedom. I will likely never move.
 
I have lived in Missouri for about 30 years so i guess its home.
St Louis arch
Branson mo (greatest red neck town ever)
Truman lake (great crappie, spoon bill and big blue catfish)
Lake of the Ozarks ( same as above)
The Ozarks beautiful country
The Chiefs and Royals
Clean water

I had to add some of the best BBQ around.

Boy, I have lived in so MANY places it's hard to pick one or two. As for Vermont, where we now live, it's a place that you either love, or hate. Love if you are of a state of mind where you are self sufficient, love nature, dislike sprawl and anything over 3 stories. Vermonters are typically tacturn and pragmatic, quiet and hard working. You have to WANT to live here because we don't make it easy. The taxes are high, property values are high, development is discouraged and big signs are verboten. We want VT to always look like it always has, farms and fields, forest and stream, open country all around. The VT Land Trust is alive and well so that your land will not end up being scattered lots and condos and will instead remain as it always has been. The state has all the natural attractions most could ever need including , mountains, streams, deep valleys, beaches, old growth forest, ice age rock formations and areas where there are very few people per square mile. Up until a couple of years ago there was only one, yes 1, AutoZone, Advanced Auto, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The population of the ENTIRE state is around 602,000. Less than many average cities. Art is alive and well, craft beer too, some of the best skiing anywhere and so many types of foods you almost never have to eat the same thing ever.
WE like it because we are not bothered by people. Our neighbors are far away and willing to help at the drop of a hat but wont butt in unless asked. People mind their own business here.
If you love 24/7 EVERYTHING then don't come, it's not here. And that's how we like it.
 
I’ve lived in a lot of states, now in Utah, the best thing here are the women! Some of the nicest sceneries.

Well, didn't fall in the Pacific @ dark thirty. Now it's spectacular weather out, ripe for a day of accomplishment. California has been beddy, beddy good to me!

I grew up in Florida and have lived on both coasts and in the center. When I was in my 20's I would go out canoeing almost every weekend. I really cant find words to describe the beauty of the rivers in Florida. Some of the rivers like the Alafia, Santa Fe, Suwanee and Peace. The fishing in Florida is great. And I live on the beach so its always fun to grab a beer and a chair and watch what walks by.

I like Maryland so much more. When I go into Maryland from PA, you can really see the difference. I've been from here to Florida, from Florida to California and back through the center of the country. There were some beautiful sites but nothing like coming back to Maryland. Jmo
 
As a new resident of Nevada, I would put this State as one of the best kept secrets for beauty and things to do. Most think it's gambling and Lost Wages Sin City. But it is a great place for hunting fishing, heading out to BLM land and exploring, actually being able to mine for Gold and Silver, the Wild Mustangs of course, and some very nice weather. Oh not as great as say Florida and CA in winter time. But we do have some very pretty scenery here on the western edge of the State which is the Eastern slope of the Sierra's. Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake offer beauty beyond compare with boating and swimming as well as fishing and sailing. Granted we do not have the oceans here but from here headin' West I can be on the West Coast in about 3 hours. The car culture is really vibrant here both in Reno and in Las Vegas so not for a lack of on going cruises and shows. Any way I found my little piece of the pie here if you will and am enjoying the retired life style very much since I relocated here. As the old saying goes, "Home is where you hang your hat and put out your shingle". Need I say any more as every where in this great Country of ours do we have such an abundance of God created beauty from sea to shining sea. awesome bay/ocean scene,there is nothing like the jersey coast
from the hook to cape may
it is getting over crowded
just an hour from any major event in Philly and NYC
great pizza in any direction
its called the garden state for a reason,many good farms and produce in the south
after that it goes down hill...

LOL, unless the better-half starts complaining about cold/snow. I kinda like the 4-seasons,kinda!

I had never been to Vermont until last year. As I drove in to a friend's place near mount snow, I was amazed at the sparse, rural expanse of the mountainous terrain. It was if I was out west, in a way. Didn't realize it was that nice.
