I play GTA 5 alot but cant stand the generic cars they have in the game. So I modded my game to have vehicles I like in the game. Anyhow figured I would show the cars in my garage..

This is mostly something to do when I'm bored.

I play the "video games" quite often in the winter when it's too cold to work on the cars. Much more enjoyable than watching tv, imo. But then again I ain't even 20 yet so I grew up playing games.

a lot of kids and teenagers don't like playing the old board games or building models or trains ,they like the electronic games and RC`s I loved building models and playing board games in the attickI still have a huge amount of both

I was at Summit Racing picking up some headers one day and was browsing the model section and came across a model that brought back some childhood memories. The damn model was 39.00 but I had to have it. I will never build it just because Id rather display the box.

Back story. When i was a kid in the 70's My dad took us to the local Peterbuilt place because they were having a truck show. At that show was the Super Boss truck. This guy was doing burnouts,180 spins and just giving that truck hell. Anyhow when he was done with his demo he stopped the truck right in front of me and me dad. And me being used to running up and hopping on my dads truck. I ran out to greet Tyrone Malone, and proceeded in burning the ever loving **** out of my knee cap on the side exit pipes on the truck. Tyrone Malone scooped me up and took me over to medical. They took care of my knee and I got some Peterbuilt swag and some Super Boss Swag.. I saw the model at summit and had to have it.

I played those hex map board games back in the 80's.
Sometimes with 1/72 model playing pieces and rulers instead of a board.
Very involved. Kind of like chess but with a much larger board and 30 or 40 different pieces with a half dozen different attributes.

If you like those, check out the "Panzer General" series for early PC.
I was seriously addicted to that one.

I was a fairly early FPS adopter (Doom) and that led to me IT career- figuring out how to build a network for multiplayer.

I also enjoyed helicopter sims like "Gunship" and "Comanche".

I was into transport sims for a while like "Railroad Tycoon".

One of my all time favorites was "Interstate '76", a car based FPS.

Then the "Battlefield" series.

I suppose it goes back to classic dice based "D&D" and then "Zork", after graduating from the more common board games.

I miss real FPS platform where the gun shoots straight ahead and the view is from the eyes of the character, and I miss the non-generic driving or flight sim platform. The kind that requires a joystick or wheel.

I have Interstate 76 with the Nitro pack.. :) It doesn't play well with Windows 10 That old game being based on Glide which hasn't been supported in a while. I did like that game. Maybe I can run it with compatibility for 98.

I played I '76 so much, I could take the worst vehicle in the game, and run the table in just about any online session.

I had a secret technique that few people caught on to-

As many forward firing 7.62 as possible
50 cal guided turret
Rear firing guided missile

Run straight at the target vehicle
Unload the 7.62's while driving toward the target, interspersed with guided 50 cal
After gaining speed, and just at opponent's weapons range, switch off ignition
(opponent looses guided weapon lock)
After passing, keep the 50 cal going while launching the rocket.

Almost 100% success rate no matter what the opposing vehicle or armament was.
I cold use the postal jeep, the van, or my favorite, the 71-74 "Charger".

It was a little different in the campaign, as the Mech Warrior game engine liked to have the AI vehicles circle, making a straight on attack almost impossible.

IIRC that game made a bit of tech history- the first to allow dynamic joins/unjoins.
Before that you had to restart the host and wait for all the players before starting the game, and if anyone unjoined, they couldn't get back in.

I used to do a ton of gaming. Mostly first-person-shooters, and I really got into the Forza series on Xbox 360. When Xbox one came out, and they started limiting the options for the 360, I decided I had plenty of other things to do, like working on the cars, shooting, and fishing,... that I decided I wasn't going to start all over with a new system.

I was also into models when younger, and still have a bunch of them that I never built. They are on display in my hobby room.

Gran Turismo ONLY!,,,,,& **** the game, just dig the **** out of the driving simulation. Haven't gotten to do GT6 yet, but I drove the **** out of GT5. Had a 70 R/T Charger that I did all the mods on. 208 mph top end. Bummer was there was no small block offering for it, 440 only. Still, I could hold second on Nurburgring running against the 250 mph GTP coupes......learned how to lead the understeer......probably could have managed a first with a ratty small block.

I play Gran Turismo 6 and NHL on the PS3. Won't buy a PS4 until there's a new release of GT. I'll do the FPS but these are the two games I play the most. Ride is also VERY cool.
I mostly play the "Seasonal Events" build up bank and go shopping. Close to 200 cars in my garage and 30 million in credits. Took a TON of time to get there.

Pretty much started gaming with Air Warrior...long ago when an evenings flying was expensive. Stayed with AW all the way to the end. Then I got involved with my coworkers playing Day of Defeat. This led to many other FPS multiplayers games and groups. The ones I remember are the Call of Duty series, the Battlefield series (both from their humble beginnings). I played the flying games also. Aces High, WWIIonline, Warbirds, World of Warplanes, and for the past 3+ years I have played War Thunder. Back when I was doing endurance racing, I played a lot of GT Legends. By downloading cars similar in physics to what I was racing at the time, I could really get familiar with the track I had my next race at. It made a big difference.
Anyway, I still game a couple times a week during the cold months here. Lately my son in NM has been joining me on Steam to play Insurgency.

I play call of duty games and battlefront with my son.

I had Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 1,2 and 3 I still have Flight Sim X but haven't installed in in years. Then the Janes WW2 Fighters. Those were all decent sims.
