So, here's a recipe for disaster if I've ever seen one. The super volcano near Japan is working up towards a blow out.....like it did 7000 years ago, and 9500 years ago. Let's add, for grins and giggles, the super caldera of the Yellowstone basin. Now, if those two BOTH blow at around the same time, kiss your butts Buh-Bye. Extinction event coming up...

Scary **** isn't it...

Just the Caldera/"Yuge" magma chamber growing in or
under Yellowstone Park area is a game changer,
they claim "everything east & north of it" for 5000 miles or more
would be covered in volcanic dust "feet {as in plural} thick"
not to say what the explosion, heat or wind from it would do
for 1,000 {?} miles circumference BOOM everything would be like toast,
it would change the weather in the northern hemisphere for decades,
could be an extinction event too, depending on how severe...

Alaska has a shitload of volcanoes too,
IIRC one recently erupted a few years ago...

Time to move to Kiwi land (look out kiwigtx here we come} BUT;
they have a crap load of volcanoes too or in the southern hemisphere...
Unfortunately there not enough room,
but the Pacific Rim/Ring of fire is loaded with volcanoes,
almost all the islands of the south Pacific, also Hawaiian islands are volcanoes...

All that crap will travel east, where ever it blows...

I had 3 bowls of delicious homemade chili for dinner tonight. Yellowstone and that Jap volcano don't have anything on me. If I blow, the game's over!

RIP me then! I live less than 100 miles from the caldera, if it blows I'm gone instantly.
It's been nice knowing ya.

We live less than 10 miles from a volcano which last erupted 700 years ago....it could go at any time with little warning. We also live in a city built on top of roughly 40 volcanoes.

Let's not forget those occasional cataclysmic meteors striking the Earth. Of course, a pandemic influenza virus might wipe us out before the fire and fury of volcanoes and meteors.

I radioed ahead to the mother ship, but a pre-recorded transmission from Marshall Applewhite says that we had our chance in 1997 and they are not coming back to save us.

There's a down side here?

Well....ah...yeah, unless your looking forward to global extinction. Or do you feel that you will one of the lucky ones who makes it through unscathed? On the other hand it would solve a whole heap of problems and also create a heap more. I guess it all depends on your point of view huh? I'm not sure that I would be happy with whatever type of society would eventually emerge from something so final.

it might be nice to go from 9 billion to 1 million worldwide in like, two weeks. Sure would be smelly though.....that's a bunch of rotting flesh. On the upside, you could pretty much have what ever car you wanted. I'm kidding.

Well we do need a reset. Lots of stupid people out there. That said, I can't control it, I can't change it, and I can't stop it, if it is world ending, well, then it is. I wont worry about something I can't do anything about. Why waste the stress? Especially something that has a slim chance of happening in my life time.

Weather you live on a fault line, flood zone, tornado alley, fire zone, flood zone, hurricane prone areas, or wherever, your going to have to deal with the consequences as they are dealt to you. Ain't nothing you can do about it.
Stop wishin for bad luck and knockin on wood!
