I'll start. I was raised in a Chevrolet household, my first hot rod was a 57 Chevy, Rochester fuel injected, 4speed. I wanted a big block car with an auto trans to race at irwindale (the old one ). In Pasadena on Colorado Blvd (think rose parade ) there were two hipo used car dealers. One had just the car i wanted. It was a 67corvette, maroon roadster 400hp tripower (biggest motor with auto available ) powerglide , factory air and sidepipes, teak wheel. I couldn't buy it outright so i asked what they'd give me for my 57. He offered $500, i had just put in a new Lt1 (360hp camaro version ) so of course I walked. They wanted $2300 for the vette and couldn't sell it because of the powerglide. What's it worth now?
More interesting to my mopar friends, the other big regret was a car owned by a kid i didn't particularity like at my high school. He wanted $400 for an old Mopar he had. I went to look, and i really wanted it, but i didn't have the money for the new top and leather that it needed. It was a 300D convertible in white, one of how many, fifty?
Anyway, what do you guys regret?

traded a wrecked 68 charger for a 350cc motorcycle
junked a 70 charger rt after parting for repairs to above charger
junked a 70 sport fury
junked a 73 satellite
junked a 65 bel air, or something like that
traded a 77 gmc love shack van for above chebbie
dumb kid i was. cars were cheap back then.

I sold a 69 Road Runner (less engine) with a near perfect body for $250 and never got paid the last $100. I actually was lowering a 413 into the engine bay when I was convinced to sell it without the motor.... guy saw me with the cherry picker in my driveway

There are too many "wish I had boughts" but the one I wished I could have afforded around 1990 or so was at a classic car dealer. It was a 1966 Plymouth Satellite Hemi 4-speed in Mauve and was a California car. Was more than I could afford at that time in my life. I think the one I will regret the most is if my 1965 Dodge Monaco 426W 4-speed sells that I have listed. Go find another one!

Sold my 70 coronet 500 383 4 speed and my 75 duster with a 440. Duster can be replaced easily but the prices for 68-70 b bodies is insane right now.

That’s a looooong list.

Dont Sell That car! You already know you'll regret it!

About 95 I looked at a 1965 Plymouth belvedere 1 426 4speed 4 door. 1 of 2 . Tried to trade my 66 charger for it but the guy wasn’t interested & I didn’t have the cash. The car I got rid of and wish I didn’t was a survivor 1949 Chrysler Windsor silver anniversary with 35k miles. All original paint and interior. Still had the bullseye headlights

I Regret that I sold my mint 68' charger yellow with white Interior in 2001.
I also regret not buying a 69' Black Hemi Superbee with 40k actual miles on it in Houston in 1986. he wanted $6,000.00

Not buying A 1971 Dodge charger when I was in my 20s my dad just buy a new piano for my sister and then he ask me what do you want ? I told him about this yellow charger, he come with me to see the car he like it too then he gave me the money but in that precise moment my grandpa make me a phone call and convince me not to buy that car I so i didnt i regret it till this day

In 72 I could have bought a Porsche' 904 for 7000.00,,,was a very fast car
About 87, I could have gotten an AAR 'Cuda for 900.00, straight runner.
Regret selling
A 1970 deTomaso Mangusta
A 1968 Coronet 440 post/bench w/318

Bladecutter, exotic stuff, very cool! But man, seven grand was a lot of money in 72, but a 904Porsche! I would regret that too.

My 1947 Buick super 2 door sedanette (fast back) 248 straight 8 3 on the tree! Was the greatest time of my life. The car wasn't perfect it had issues and some of the paint was fixed by brush ... but I didn't care it was cool and the only one in town! God what I would give for that Buick back!

Love those 40s gm fastbacks. My dad's favorite car was a 1942Chevy aero-fleetline . Selling that one was his regret. (Early 42,had all the chrome, not a blackout, they were UGLY. )

904 brings about 2.2 mil now. I watched the car running a slalom, amazing how fast it could change direction, flat as a pancake. Porsche has built unbelievable race hardware, like the 917, bad to the bone. I'm just not goofy on their(to me)generic street stuff, never a 911 & all its variants, fan. Think fit & finish is pretty average & not up to the kind of money they get for them. A Porsche' fact....in the 70's, Porsche's best handling street offering was the VW built 914,,mid engine, the cheapest of the line.
Today, the best handling street offering is the Cayman coupe & Boxer roadster, also mid engine & also the cheapest of the Porsche' line. The superior handling holds true against the RUF aftermarket hammer 4 wheel drive 911 types too.

Pulled a 47 Hudson commadore out of a field. When I was 17... rebuilt everything to original, had it in the paint shop when I was 20 and was on deployment when I got told the shop was going under. The owner moved it to his house. When I got home he had failing health and had to move it, I was going out to sea again for another 9mo deployment and wound up taking it to his partner's house. When I got back, it could t be found, he couldnt be found. My beautiful hudson disappeared. Still miss it... Still pist....

I feel your pain about that Buick. Ive seen you post it before and i sort of thought you had to sell it due to your problems with your back. I feel real bad you had to part with it but you did what you had to do. The bottom line is with Gods graces you will have no more major back issues and your young enough and car savvy enough that you will have and enjoy many cars to come. But that Buick is like that old girlfriend you never really forget.

I regeret i sold my 65 Corvette roadster. I bought a brand new 74 monte carlo as we were getting married and wanted a new good car. I put half down on the Monte and later on sold the vet and paid off the car loan. So we were married in 74 and had a brand new car completely paid off which was not to shabby. In 76 we bought a house. Honestly with the bills the last 40 plus years i wold have had to sell the vet but still i miss that car and the memories it held
