I am getting all the components together to install a dual line external oil pick-up. has anyone had to trim the k-member to install the pump, or is this the SOP for the big pumps. if I am looking at it right I may have to take loose the drivers motor mount and raise the motor a bit also. the trim doesn't look like it will be much, but it will have to be done. this is a 67 GTX k-member in a 64 bel. auto trans. do I have something unususal ? Dave.

I am not familiar w/ ur set up, but they do have diff. fittings to put the lines in diff. places coming in to the pump. I think their are even diff pump bodies made w. diff inlets. I run a single line "old " funny car set up on my 505 wedge. I ahveread about people having to trim motor mounts to clear too. I run a motor plate , so no problems there.

I had to trim some of the motor mount stand at the k-frame; once upon on a time,...lol.

The high volume pump that is on the car now is a quarter of an inch shorter than the pump that I bought? with the extra plate and the cover plate the assemblly will be on the order of an inch or so longer. there is a steel mount on that side of the engine, it itsself is not in the way but I pretty sure its going to be a pita with the engine already installed, I think that a sawsall will solve the clearance problem, if not I also have a smoke wrench. thanks for the replys fellas, I was hoping I didn't have something strange. Dave.

IIRC I used a stock pump with cover and spacer. had to remove some of the mount stand on the k-member. been a lot of decades ago.
