Hi, Everyone.
I joined B Bodies Only because my son just bought a 1970 Coronet 2dr hdtp project. I hope to help him bring it back to life.

Pretty solid old car. Good rails and pans. Outer skin is a little iffy in places. Green, of course. It has a wrong 400 and right 727 in it. Sure-Grip but not sure of ratio yet. The trim tag is MIA which takes some of the fun out of it.

The plan is to focus on function and get it roadworthy first. We will make it new-ish and pretty later.

We are both die hard old car guys. Love them all but some way more than others.
My son lives 2 1/2 hours away and is a busy professional. I am blue collar but have a large shop and lots of tools.
Hoping and expecting that his dream car will draw him home to work on it on weekends. This empty nest thing takes some getting used to...

I live in SW KY. I would enjoy corresponding with other enthusiasts nearby or those who have a 70 Coronet or Superbee.

I always liked MoPaRs, just never owned one. When I was a punk kid I once passed up a running, driving '70 Superbee with a 440 for $750!
I have lots to learn.
Glad there's a group to help with that.
Thanks for the website.

Welcome to the forum!

Great to see a father and son project......

Welcome, '70 Super Bee, too. Prepare for an eye-opening, but fun, experience.

Welcome, very cool project

Welcome from West Virginia, good luck with the project and have fun!

Welcome from Northern Iowa.
I have a 70 Coronet 500 that I'm restoring as a tribute Bee.
Getting it roadworthy if you already have the components should be straightforward.
The difficulty lies in the details.
Switching to a Rally Dash, Modernizing the AC, getting the Ramcharger Hood Functional.
You already have a BB/727 sO you don't need to worry about the power steering difference and a few other things

If you need any advice on where to find certain items start a thread or send a PM

Dean, from the Evergreen State of Washington, welcome too our group of "Moparites". It appears you have a great starting point for your father/son project. You will find lots of answers here. Happy to have you join us. :welcome:

Sorry folks! I am somewhat embarrassed. The man who was selling the car to my son has changed his mind about providing necessary documents after he got our deposit. I thought we had a deal but that's how it is these days on Craigslist. (He's refunding half. The one before him refunded all when he changed his mind... Whatever happened to sticking to a deal once you make it? I'm beginning to wonder if we should not buy off there)
We will not be working on this one. The good news is there are plenty more 70 Coronet and Superbee projects out there.

Sorry for the disappointment man but you're right there is more to be had. I don't buy anything off cl. Look elsewhere

Sorry folks!
I'm somewhat embarrassed.
We were all excited about the '70 Coronet my son had bought. Thought it was a done deal. After he got our deposit, the seller decided he was not going to provide the signed and notarized documents required by Kentucky for cars with no title.
We had to let that one go. (Nice guy...He refunded half of the deposit.) The guy before him, who sold a car from under us, refunded all of the money.
It's a different age I guess. Used to be you didn't need even a handshake. If a guy (ESPECIALLY an old car guy) gave you his word you could count on it. Nowadays you can pay in full and still have a guy sell your car to someone else because he got a higher offer after the fact. Maybe its just Craigslist...

Anyway, we are back in the market for a 70 Coronet or Superbee project. No big rush - and I'm still looking forward to the website and forums.
If any of you run across that green Coronet we just "bought" in St. Francis, MN, tread lightly.
Dean
