I happened to have Judge Judy on and before her was a deaf plaintiff. She had a interpreter standing next to the judge.

I've never seen this before. The interpreter was "mouthing" what the judge was saying, with exaggerated mouth movements that were quite comical. Judge Judy can exaggerate enough on her own but watching this was really funny.

I couldn't find a video on this show but here is a few pics that I managed to take.

I’ve seen the show before. That sounds pretty bizarre. I hear the good judge is one of the highest paid entertainers on tv. She makes a truck load of cash every year to put up with no nonsense.

I think I heard her say she was from Brooklyn once before, in which she also said thats how she knows how to deal with wise guy's....

I don't see how one can call a televised smear campaign, justice.

. Local small claims can handle everything on the show

I quit watching her a long time ago. She's such a crotchety old bitch.

It's entertainment, if the people wanted real justice, they would have gone to court.

Cant stand the arrogance. No thanks
Yeah, that's another one of her attributes.
Conversely, Marilyn Milian (Peoples Court) is just the opposite, not to mention, much easier on the eyes. Hard to believe she's 56 year old. What a fox!

I took a contractor working at my mother's house to court in Jersey. Before the court date at the real county court house, I received a call from the People's Court wanting to know if I would go on the show. Here's what they do to get people on the show.
1. You get paid a small fee for going on the show. Plaintiff and Defendant. Win or lose.
2. If you the Plaintiff wins in People's Court, the court pays you before you leave and then collects the money from the Defendant.

They tried that with me saying if you win we will pay you before you leave. I told them, no thanks I want this done in a real court. They got offended and replied, this is real court. I told them, I am not airing my personal stuff on tv so my answer is no. They called me one week before my court date to see if I would change my mind. Again I told them no. Went to the real court and won and had no problem collecting the 3700 and change back for my mother.
