I had a CR 500 in 1989. Sold my YZ 250 to buy it, and MAN DID I REGRET IT!! That thing was a BEAST. You had to lay on the handlebars to keep it on both wheels. Don't get me wrong, I had A LOT of fun with it, but I still don't know how I lived through it. I used to race all of the neighborhood hotrods with it and up to 75 mph they couldn't keep up. LOL

when I was 13/14 I bought a Maico 250 with money I saved. I had to grow into it, looking back, I'm not sure how I survived it.

couple years ago I had to pull the bottom drawer out of my tool box, and there was an old photo of it laying in the bottom..... I rode that thing till I was about 20...…. wish I had it today, just for the cool factor

That bike is definately bad *** and it will hurt you . Same as a TT 500 with the little decompression lever to start it .
Fun bike but you'll get beat by every 250 as you just trying to hold the f on ..
