how many of you like photography and use it in your hobby ,what cameras do you have and what equipment do you have and use when shooting do you stick one certain area ,automotive , wildlife ,landscape , astrophotography, macro, or people post up

a friend of mine that is a pro told me about this site a lot of the pros and amateurs go there ,there are reviews, for sale want to buy and also photos posted ,thought some of you might like it ,FredMiranda.com http://www.fredmiranda.com/

I was into it about 30 years ago, not much lately. All that 35mm stuff is now worthless, and I paid a fortune for that crap back then!

yup all I ever use to shoot was 35mm have a lot of my stuff still carried it most of the time while I was in Vietnam, updated to my last 35mm camera when the Canon EOS 3 came came ,then had to make the big move to digital the Canon 5 D and 1D and then the Canon 7D a lot of money and the lens are not cheap either especially the good glass

Aren't some of those old lenses usable on the newer digitals in manual mode?
My old Sears KS1 35mm lenses are compatible with the Pentax K series digitals. I'm out of it since the 6 meg pixel era as I can't afford the tech turnover.

These days I just carry around a well used Optio WG-II for when I drop it on the ground or in the water. It's a ton lighter too!

yup

I'm a amateur photographer that sells an occasional print. I'm currently using an old Canon 5D. Got a few lenses: 17-40 f/4L, 70-200 f/4L, 300 f/4L, 50 f/1.8, 1.4 teleconverter and a set of extension tubes. When people ask if I do weddings or portraits I tell them I hate people. I tell them I'm a landscape/nature photography and I don't have the equipment no do I feel comfortable with people.

I do visit Fred's site occasionally but I frequent POTN: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/ and dGrin: https://dgrin.com/ the most.

If it wasn't for my parents, I'd still be using a Canon 300D.

Years ago my dad causally asked if I had them money, what camera would you like. At the time the 5D was the camera. A few month later I get a check in the mail. The only string was he wanted my old camera. I also gave him the kit lens, a bag and a 100-300 lens I had.

I suck at photography

use to have a Olympus 35 MM
I used for a long time, did OK with it

:screwy: I was good with my ol' Polaroid :bananadance:

obviously I'm not a photographer
I spend my time & $$$ on my car, truck, houses etc.

& I'm OK with it too

I use it for my own reference anyway,
serves my purpose, had to get into the digital age

it could be my $49 Vivitar XO22 Digital, bought at Walmart Camera
but;
it's actually better than the $99 POS Vivitar I had before it

I see to do a ton of 35 mm stuff years ago like many others. Used to get good concert footage back then. Ended up with some great photo of Stevie Ray Vaughan when he was here in Maine before his death. Now I do a ton of digital work with cameras and GoPro type cameras. I also teach a digital outdoor Education / photo class in High School. We use regular digital cameras, GoPro type and even drones while going all kinds of outdoor activities. We also use Adobe Premier and photoshop to edit all videos and pics.

a lot of people now use there cell phones
