Hey there. So I’ve owned a handful of Mopar over the years but never really thought of joining any forums. I own a 1970 Super Bee with a running and very stock 440 I pulled out of a matching numbers GTX ( the owner actually pulled it out to dump a crate Hemi in the car. I have no idea why. But it was nice to get the 440 ) ... just sold my matching numbers 1969 Coronet R/T
(Sad day. But I was in a jam and sometimes you’ve gotta be a grownup. Or so they tell me ) some years ago I had a ‘68 Dart GT Clone with a 340 ... Anyway... I just bought a 71 Charger and I want to make it an R/T tribute car. Does ANYONE KNOW of someone making passenger door patch panels that have the R/T “gills” or stamped depressions that can be welded in? I’ve looked everywhere for R/T door skins... pannels... nothing... nada. I’m sure as the 3rd generation cars gain in popularity, someone will do it. But i can’t find a thing right now. Any help would be really appreciated. I found a pair of doors. But they were going for $7500 which is a little beyond my means. I bought all my cars for no more than 6k back in the good old days before Mopars became “Nopars” and more of a wealthy man’s hobby. I’ve always dreamed of having a 71 Charger R/T so I’m doing it the way I can. I need those doors!!! Haha. I’m stumped. Thanks for reading. Cheers.

Welcome aboard from NJ. Hopefully you will find some parts at a more affordable price. In the meanwhile, I am sure we would all enjoy some uploaded pictures of your car(s). WE love car ****! :D

Welcome.. from one 70 Coronet owner to another.
Nice rides.
I wouldn't have been able to sell an RT. The Bee would have went. Must have been painful. Enjoy the forum

Hello Theo.
There is a guy in San Jose area that seems to know a lot of Mopar people. He posts here and elsewhere under the title "MigsBig". Miguel is a large fella, hence the name. He was building a car with those doors you like but I don't know if he abandoned the project or is moving forward with it. He is on this site, For A Bodies Only as well as Moparts.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum. All I can say is stay persistant and put an ad in the parts wanted section. You might visit dodgecharger.com as well and put an ad there as well

Thanks for the lead!!! I’ll try to find him and ask him if he still has them and if they’re in use. Man... I’m ready to fabricate some kind of dye or metal punch. I think that would be cheaper than the $7500 that the last ones I was aware of went for. Sheeeeesh. It’s a whole new Mopar world out there.

In the meantime... does anyone know of a set of ‘71/‘72 full style vinyl top moldings for sale? That’s the other missing piece of the moment. I’ve been checking Ebay prettt regularly. Nothing yet.
