Sudden cut off of "conversations" limit??

I tried to start a new "conversation" and got a message that my inbox is full.
I have over 300 messages out of 100, and a horizontal bar graph has appeared that I've never seen before regarding that.
Has something changed regarding this?
Does my gold membership status affect the number of messages I can have? My membership is current.

You can have 100 separate conversations. Each conversation can have unlimited messages in it. To clarify --- if you and I have a private conversation, we can go back and forth as much as we want with no limit. Think of it like this -- a conversation is like a thread. Messages are like posts in that thread.

Ok, here's what happened....

Yesterday you asked to be removed from the politics group. As it turns out, there was a settings bug that gave you unlimited conversations because you were both gold and politics. So, when we took you off politics forum, you went back to what you were suppose to have as a gold member. (100 conversations) So, you'll need to leave conversations until you get under 100---

Other political forum members will see this same thing since we've now fixed it.

I will have to go back and print what I want to keep to go further.

I had to delete over 800 conversations last week too. Never had an issue. Mine said 5764% Full
