Happy Armistice Day, everyone...

Good afternoon everyone. Just thought I'd start my first post by thanking my great-grandfather's generation for what they did in the Great War, "over there." Today marks 100 years (plus a few hours) from the armistice that stopped the First World War. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Great day to join the forum!

I'm a total mid-life newbie to cars, but I love everything about the legacy of American muscle cars... except their un-affordability, of course. Hence the 1973 Satellite in mediocre condition. My gun collection filled up to the point of diminishing returns (or astronomical cost?) to fill the last few holes, so I thought it was time to pursue a new and noble hobby... now I'm spending my wife's hard-earned money on a car older than I am! I love it.

I am delighted to be into MOPAR now and to learn how these old beauties worked. I am the frustrated-yet-proud owner of a 1973 Satellite with a 2-barrel 318, but with a new exhaust and a lumpy cam that make it sound cooler than it really is... hence my faux roadrunner handle. I look forward to working with all of you as I get this car whipped into shape. Thanks and happy Veterans Day!

As an aside, I discovered a great channel on YouTube today on this very subject (WW2) that's pretty awesome.
They are trying to get as many of the surviving WW2 vet's stories recorded for posterity as they can before it's too late
