IN~N~OUT BURGERS@ POMONA RACEWAY

I went. Great show, lots of great cars, good race cars (just making laps though). I actually went twice, one of the girls I was with had to leave early for work, so i went back on my own. I still didn't see anywhere near all of it. It looked like a huge success, they will certainly do it for their 75th.
I do wish the would park one of those trucks in front of my local in-n-out though. MUCH better food than mine. They burn the meat, the buns , the onions, the fries, they burn the lettuce, the tomatoes, and the cokes.

I made the trip 90 miles from Escondido, had a great time. There must have been close to 2,000 cars! I think I saw at least 2/3 of them lol. Drag racing was entertaining, there were a few cars that really surprised me running high 7’s at 165-175mph. And the Green Maverick with the wheel stands and low 9 second passes all day was fun to watch.

Wish I could have made this one. Pictures please. Gorgeous place. Track! Those mountains.

That green maverick belongs to a friend, James Desrat he ran 9.06 and beat that Duster Full chassis car, we do some street racing up here in the Cali desert and that small block maverick is the guy everyone wants to beat. Video of that race on FB:

Man, that car was a lot of fun to watch! He was toying with that yellow Duster ( Miss Schaven ) I saw him hit the brakes about 50’ from the stripe and still turn a 9.90 or so. I am guessing he was playing it up for the crowd early by carrying wheelies, I missed getting video of that. By later in the day he must have changed his setup because he was just flat out hauling and hitting 9.05’s just about every run.

I think the blown hemis 63 is a member here (speed changes you?). 392.
The green coronet 440 (model) was a sleeper, no external indicator of the hemi.

Some off-brands I really liked: the 56 and 57 sit perfect, who doesn't like a post sedan with a dual quad 427 and monster tires, and the colors on the 58 blew me away.

The first row I walked down had TWO red and white 62 fury's. Needless to say, i checked them out. Total brain fade on taking more pictures, but there was so much to see, I wanted to take in all I could . All the shots I did get were as I was going home, and 80% of the car show had gone.
