looking to buy a used puller to remove the rear drums and hub assembly on my 64 Plymouth

the type that bolts to 3 of the lug studs

Do Auto parts stores, like Advanced, have the "FREE TOOL RENTAL" like they do here ? Check around for one local to you...

they don't have what I need at the rental place but thanks. looking for someone who bought it when they needed it and its just sitting around and they have no use for it anymore. its to expensive for me to buy new so im looking for used one for cheap.

This should do it.
A generic slide hammer kit will also do it, cheap at HF.

tried that one and it didn't work,.... need the better style with three separate arms- the type that you hit with a sledge hammer. its for an earlier mopar (64) and rear axle is tapered so it needs extreme force to be removed.

what I need looks like this. I'm looking for a vintage one stamped with a known tool company name or made in USA. not interested in a newer Chinese knock off which wont be able to take the force. I need this ASAP

Yeah ... that is a little pricey ... I bought mine at a local swap meet for $40 but I had to promise that it was going to a good home and would be well loved and well used.

not everyone gives a ****, but ill try that one on him! haha. thanks for the help

Anything under a hundred is a gift. Time to change out to a 65 -67 rear end. Dont waste money on the brakes, tool and bearings on that rear.

just trying to get it on the road for now and not change the rear end. I already have my hands full atm. I checked completed listing on eBay and the good old ones go for about $50 plus shipping tops so no I wouldn't consider paying 100 for one a gift. haha! people try to list them for more but they wont ever sell them... IMO

still looking for one, would rather not make the trip to santa clarita tmrw if someone here can help me out. thanks !

I have a puller that I bought 40 years ago that I DO NOT need anymore

send me a PM with your phone # !!!!

you do not have to buy a super expensive.....I purchased one at a swap meet, NIB...was 36.00 and it has not failed to pull any hub I have put it onto including Volvo (Salisbury, a European Dana) with an 8 foot cheater pipe and my fat *** bouncing up and down on it..it can take this (twice on the Volvo) each side was the dickens to remove...worse I have ever encountered. I also just pulled the rear hubs on a 48 Plymouth...this is basically the same item most of the parts house have in their inventory for loaners......for no more than the average person will use this...hard to justify a model for big bucks to sit on the shelf and gather dust...now if you are doing this daily, then I withdraw my suggestion.....odds are you going to have a shop monkey working with it....

Swap the drums and studs and never have to deal with it again.
Napa BK 641-1128
Summit Bendix drums PDR0182

Summit had everything to do the brakes except a booster and the correct studs.

My right side came off within a few minutes, the left took hours. I've heard people back off the axle nut and drive it to get them to pop off.
Strangest sound I've ever heard.

The Blue-Point tool was the best money I ever spent. I use it all the time. Two of my regularly-driven cars have the tapered design. It's no sweat. And, if you do decide to upgrade away from the tapered shaft design, you can swap in aftermarket axle shafts and a set of 10" drums for 1/2 the money someone thinks a 65 axle is worth.

@Evan Frucht sorry to hijack your thread but you inbox is full. If you change your mind about a 65 housing let me know. I have a complete rear end that I would split up here locally.
