i have a 68 Charger that came with just a clock with the rallye gauge cluster. I’m in the process of replacing the clock with a tic toc tach and wondering if I will also need a tach adapter since I’m running a msd 6AL ignition system? And if so which adapter should I go with? Forgot to mention that I also have the msd pro billet 8545 and msd coil blaster 2.

Is that the only thing that’s needed or would I also have to get the tach adapter & harness?
You need a wiring harness too. At least in '70, there is one extra wire which runs to the fuse holder...now that I'm thinking about it, that might be the same as what powers your clock right now. There's also a pigtail that goes through the firewall (grey wire I believe) all alone with its own grommet.

Great guys and their tach conversion boards work great.

I just reached out to Evans Wiring for a harness so I’m going to purchase that from them.

Classic Industries sells a msd circuit board conversion to make your tach work.
Is the circuit board conversion necessary if you have the harness and tach adapter or is this a must in order for it to work with the other pieces? The Tach is brand new

I guess now that I have both the harness & msd Tach adapter do I need to install a circuit board for a brand new Tach I just purchased?

Only one or the other is required. Either install the new circuit board or install a tach adapter.
