Not advertising what you have maybe one of the best deterents. I know some here like to make fun of those not posting lots of pictures on this site. You would hope for everyone here to be honest. But really how safe is that?

How come no one has even mentioned this...A closed, locked, and secured garage with plenty of monitoring in place. If they cannot see it, they cannot steal it. And even if they do get in, then I unload a lot of lead into them. Seems to me unless I am missing something here is that some of ya'll park and keep your rides outside. If that is the case then, how come you do that? As these cars become older and create more desire, then by keeping it outside, you are only telegraphing and essentially saying, Come and Take. Just my 2 cents is all...cr8crshr/Bill

I installed electric locks and a modern car alarm with an ignition disabler on the Coronet. However, I wonder if we're being overly concerned about our cars/trucks being stolen in the first place.

Does anyone have any statistics not introduced by an entity that is likely to profit from them?

Can you share the unit you described, with the alarm?

Sounds familiar, someone would have to drive quite a ways off the beaten path to end up at more doorstep and the dog let's me know well in advance.

Away from home it's a battery kill switch that uses a key, I take the car keys then the battery key and leave it unlocked.. I'd rather someone use the door handle vs breaking my window out!

The only people who are going to grab the door handle of another man's ride are the ones looking to do more than just sit in it. Like I said, leaving it unlocked at least saves me a broken window or worse plus the only thing they could really steal out of it is a $65 dollar stereo. I also only park in highly visible areas as well, I don't get the whole parking in the back parking lots, right up front for me.

Got to stay in camera range at least and the back of the lot maybe to far out. If you need to know stop at the customer service desk and ask. This has saved our butt once having access to security cam tap.

It's a basic Viper alarm with 2 wire door locks (both doors lock\unlock at the same time). The 2 wire locks were easier to integrate with the alarm. There is a wireless receiver that sticks to the inside of the windshield that has a flashing LED light when the system is armed.

You can buy both items on Amazon. Avital alarms look to be the same as Viper but may be less expensive.

so they can start car but it will die and slow them or stop them
