Wayne....they are getting few and far in-between....Call AMS Obsolete.......Does anybody have in their stash.. an NOS or perfectly good used working OE unit for 1969?? Part number 2857 241. If so please advise price and how fast you can get it out in the mail ! Thanks!
What plate are you talking about? That's where I got the friggin POS $10 NOS plate.. LOL. I have three that I've found so far, just thought being a weekend I'd see if a forum member had one before I order one as nobody can ship 'till Monday anyhow!
What plate are you talking about?
Almost all you see now have the correct PN but all the wires are separate....Versus the original ones where they are fused together.....
Here is an Ebay link as to the ones I am referring to......
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-28
Yah that's one I have saved... another that uses the DAMN Global shipping system that triples the real cost of postage and adds at least 10 days to shipping.
The "plate", I bought a repair kit.. the top plate, that fell apart!
I have shipped to Canada and its a PITA to deal with the paperwork.....They charge me normal shipping rates btw....but that's within the US of course..Yah that's one I have saved... another that uses the DAMN Global shipping system that triples the real cost of postage and adds at least 10 days to shipping.

Try four pieces of paper......That was the last item I shipped to Canada vis UPS as a gift....and not worth my effort nor time...paper, ink etc....Pure bullshit !! Its one piece of paper that asks "country of manufacture" and "value of goods" and there might be a box to check of if its a "sample", "gift" or whatever.
Now shipping by courier ... THAT'S a pain in the *** ... "commercial invoice" and a whole pile of other horseshit !! But most Canadians prefer USPS anyhow - cheap, fast and easy.
As for the Global Shipping system - if that's what a seller is determined to use I absolutely refuse to do business with them.
I have shipped several times to Canada.......and all over the world actually.......Shipping to Canada.. same as me shipping to the USA.. one extra step all done online easy peesy, just fill in the "what is it.. what's it worth" where asked and print shipping label. Bunch of Ebay sellers are now using the stupid Global system.. stuff gets shipped to Pitney Bowes in Kentucky... then back out again to the buyer. They collect taxes and duties on top of everything at ANY value and we don't have to pay legally for any value under $200. Adds to the cost and timeline nightmare. I've found one more NOS in the box that will ship direct (for 15 bucks), just wanted to see if anyone here had one before I did.
As I will say Wayne I chose the carrier......even if USPS is easier I am not taking the gamble on a screw up......Which USPS has notoriously done for me in the past shipping to Canada.....Tracking sucks completely with them...As he said Justin... "Now shipping Courier" is a PITA... USPS is as easy as it gets, both ways. Couriers and freight.. A PITA!
Thats correct on the tracking and is why I don't even consider USPS across borders.....I have dealt with too many folks wondering "where are my parts" the same guys in Canada trying to use your system.......Dealing with emails and factoring in my time, screw it.......I will stick with the states.....It's the same both ways.... tracking sucks unless you use it to your advantage. I ship airplane parts to every nook and cranny of the world. Using the postal system and tracking. You can track it from your end on USPS until it hits the border, then it disappears into cyberspace UNLESS you then start tracking it on Canadapost.ca Same deal when I ship to the US.. I track it on canadapost.ca and as soon as it hits the border I have to use USPS or it disappears..
Not thats a smart member! Nothing better than the real deal part......too bad age and use destroyed that...Thanks to @CHARGERSTEVEN for taking the time to go out to his garage and pull a spare column apart, but unfortunately finding a cancelling ear broken off just like my OE had originally!
... anyone else??? before I pull out my wallet on Ebag ?? Thanks!!
They will never be reproduced right....so your not throwing money away on an item that will always be needed...Do be posting anymore links.. LOL.. I want them still there when I buy! I found one that ships direct and no Global BS... Guess I'd better just buy it now, as it will never be worth less!
