I bought that because of the cover, not realizing it was the same guys that did "Stigmata", and so began my journey through what I call my "Industrial Hardcore" period (1989-1998).

I had the shirt too (No Man With A Good Car Needs To Be Justified).
I can't count the number of times people asked what church I went to.

(I also had an M.C. Escher shirt, and people asked...who his D.J. was)

Most likely. His hobby was racing and he was active in na$car's top series in Chargers.
An anecdote...
A friend was at the MO state fair. Robbins was on the ticket not only for singing but was entered in the race that afternoon. Something on his car broke and he went into the RR tie retaining wall.
That night on stage he complimented the track personnel for building strong retaining walls.
He bought someone else's car and continued racing.
