Listed parts for sale. I contacted via pm. Agreed on price. I told him i would mail a check first week of May. Here we are and the guy says he changed his mind because his brother told him the parts are worth gold. I know they are impossible to find and think the price reflects that. I need a set of these for my R/T and was gonna pay up.

Why do people list things for sale and back out at the last minute? That is one of the few things that piss me off. Be a stand up guy when you make an agreement and stick to it. Not backing out because you think you can make another dime!!

its sad but it happens all the time. here's were the karma comes in now that he back out on a sure deal two things will happen. one they will never get sold and two he will always remember that he had them sold and now will just let them collect dust or toss them out. good luck finding more of them some place better.

There was someone on this group selling panels, I responded that I was interested, but needed some additional info about them. After we confirmed it, I told him I would be home late from work, and that I would PayPal the money that night when I got home. When I got home he had messaged me earlier, impatiently asking if I still wanted them. I said I did and that I would send the money when I got home.

Fortunately, I checked my messages first because after responding and telling him I didn't like how he was handling it, he told me that he had already sold them to someone else earlier that day who already sent a payment. WTF? He apparently couldn't wait 3 hours. I didn't bother with the negative rating, I just put him on ignore.

He was probably trying to get you to pony up more. That in itself is complete BS.....cases like this they should be blocked from selling....

I had a guy awhile ago who is still a member here and lists things for sale. He is from NY. He responded to my WTB ad and then decided not to sell when he asked for my price. So I asked what’s your price and he stated it. Then I called his bluff and agreed. Then the guy said well I’m uncomfortable with using PayPal and meanwhile he was fine with that till that point. That guy is a total loser, liar and a flat out fraud.......I saved all the emails in case he tries to open his fat mouth......

You are only as good as your word is..

Ive seen it happen. Hopefully u will get a better deal else where and those parts the seller has will sit. On the over priced shelf.

I also had something weird happen. I paid up for an item a week ago. I didn’t haggle on the price either. Then I get a message that in paypal I agreed to use friends but I used services. Honestly didn’t even know what friends was but he killed the deal over $1.45! I was astonished as I was accused of intentionally using the wrong payment method. $1.45 in I guess taxes. Sheesh some people.....

That guy is a loser... lame. Obviously the seller has a thorny stick so far shoved up the rear end he couldn't help but report you to PayPal. I'm sure that person has no friends if it's any consolation.

Everyone knows you use "friends and family" if your willing to trust the guy and don't want to give PayPal extra money... I mean, sheesh, spare me the sad song.

These type of people are scum. Capitalist vigilantes. Or better yet just boring spiteful people with nothing better to do.

A guy reported me on Ebay for trying to complete a deal outside of Ebay and giving my phone number.

Yes I know it's bending(or breaking) the rules but sorry to say I don't really give a **** !

Anybody with the name 442 on a Mopar forum is highly suspect. My 2 cents worth.

Sorry it didnt work out but better no sale than getting ripped off.
Agreed. Nobody got ripped off and not accusing anyone of that. This is the caliber of people found on craigslist and i expect that when answering car parts ads. I think Fbbo members deserve better than craigslist.

Some are here for the money. Some are here for the hobby.

This is just a hobby to me and want to warn others that see these old cars as just a hobby.

Reminds of a good experience I had one time related to this thread. I was out in the boondocks and stopped in at a sellers place to look at the goods. Found them to my liking so I said I would purchase but didn’t have to the means to do so until I got home the next day. Got home and called to execute the deal and they told me another party had come by after me and offered more money. I could tell they were struggling with what to do. I said well we made a deal when I was up there and agreed on it. They agreed again and said they needed to do the right thing and sold me the item in question and shipped it to me. I was alway struck by how good it felt to run into an honest joe and have someone let their conscience guide them. Besides getting the item it was a feel good moment for me. That’s the way we should all handle things. Unfortunately not everyone has a conscience.

This happens to me ALL THE FREAKIN TIME! I’ll set a deal with a seller and tell them up front that I can’t bank from my work computer and that I’ll pay when I get home from work. I get home, just to find that they sold to someone else. How Smurfed up is your life that you can’t wait four hours to get paid a small amount of money?

I think this may be the same guy who I contacted when he had an item for sale that I was really keen on. A frequent seller of stuff here. I was first in line on the advert...and quite soon after it was posted. I said in my PM that I wanted the item, and told him my shipping address and I could pay with PayPal. No response for a couple of days....then I see him post that it was sold to another member. Then I get a PM from him saying he never saw my message....utter bullshit.

I have since stopped looking at his adverts, and will never buy off him even if I desperately need the item. Absolute loser.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine from here met him to buy an item, and apparently he's a decent guy. I have still not changed my opinion. My memory is good....and I remember **** like that for a long time. :icon_fU:

Always a big difference when face to face.......

When I go out to look at anything anymore I carry a pocket full of money. Here's the money, give me my stuff, we're done. I can't stand back peddlers.
