Perhaps some enlightening news for classic car owners

Thank you sir. Excellent points made there and he made a nice little plug for present day Mopar products. I wasn't aware of that particular coming bullshit from the world puppeteers! However, I can foresee rising insurance costs on us "free radicals" as we will be deemed "dangerous" because we are just "too free"! It brought to mind a comical old fake commercial I heard on the radio about the new "Uranus" car. LOL! In todays "politically correct" neutered world, I doubt they could even put that one on the air as someone would be offended!
You better cut it out as you are becoming one of my favorite news sources! Thanks again and a hat tippo!
:thankyou:

Good video. Well spent time to watch. The ESP on the new Challenger is MESSING UP my enjoyment of the Blower. Talk about Nanny! A lot easier to enjoy torque steer in the 69.

Yes sir strange technology coming into view. Just posted videos of a kid ( very well mannered) running tesla on drag strips and giving them a fit. 1/8 mile. Haven't seen 1/4 mile runs yet. Just from my casual observations, kid has several advantages. Car is silent, has sophisticated launch software, and kid cuts good lights. But nonetheless car is fast. Ill let more knowledgeable racers chime in .

Infowars is news?
You confuse the venue with the "goods", sir. Don't pay so much attention to the messenger
as to the message itself, of which infowars was not the source.
Eric Peters certainly delivers NEWS. Great website he has, very informative.
Now...
On to the actual subject at hand, namely, cars becoming more and more autonomous.

When I bought my first "drive by wire" vehicle (my '04 Ram), the first thing that occurred to me is
that they went to method of throttle input (notice I didn't say "control" there) because Dodge had
just been through all manner of issues with their automatics failing left and right.
What better way to help protect their dainty electronic transmissions than to control the torque applied
to them at a given speed/gear/throttle position than to simply take over the throttle from the human, right?
The industry term for it was "torque management". Oy. Thanks, Mercedes....
Of course, one of the first things aftermarket performance programmers went after was that very thing -
where factory programming took a lot of torque out of dead stop takeoffs and in between shifts, the
"chip" guys took a bunch of it back out, making for better acceleration.

Then, the SECOND thing that occurred to me was something far more conspiratory and nefarious...
Ok, if the vehicle is pretty much controlling the throttle itself AND satellite communications were already
on-board with most all vehicles, what's to say at some point an overbearing authority couldn't assume
CONTROL of the vehicle speed?
The technology is certainly in existence and my vehicle is pretty much equipped to receive the signal
from the mother ship, so.... hmmm??

Some years later, our friends in Europe start working on these self-governing vehicles, working outside
of their owners' control/desire if need be in order to enforce speed limits.
I catch wind of that and my old paranoia about the Ram's drive by wire come racing back into my mind.
Yup...maybe that wasn't such a crazy notion after all, eh?

Our government wouldn't pull a trick like that, we are land of the free home of the brave. Just look at our elected officials from local, through state, and onto federal. All four square honorable for the people representatives. Maybe those aren't good examples, yeah your right.

I remember my friend worked at dodge, they had charger with a throttle issue. Whole shop and Chrysler were trying to figure it out. Finally found out it was a servo issue, but this was very early and mechanics weren't familiar with those systems yet. I remember hearing what the hell is wrong with just using a throttle cable. Now i know ,trying to limit driver input.

Why do I have to waste 20 minutes of my life to find out what your talking about? What's the Cliff Notes version of this?

Drive an 06 Charger R/T and an 09 Challenger 6 speed. Hard to believe it’s the same manufacturer. 06 best throttle control ever. 09 not so much. Cable. On of the reasons I love the 69.

In the video he nailed it. Get classic muscle and add Sequential Port EFI, OD and drive it. Did that.

They're both "drive by wire" though - the gas pedal in these rigs is merely a sensor, an input to the ECM.
Just how snappy/lethargic any of 'em are is purely in their programming/algorithms.
