Yeah, I was looking last night, $550 is no picnic for a lens. I've actually ruled one of the cars out because of the combination of the broken taillight, non working dash lights (I'm still not overly familiar with these, some kind of glow, not just bulbs?) and the body filler that was slapped over rust decades ago. Lots of suspension changes, brake conversion, engine mods, and the guy won't stop calling it a "true survivor car."

I can help with this a little. A good friend has a '66. As others have said, not much different than a C body for availability, but it is better.
Coronet sheet metal is similar, some have modified Coronet parts to make up he differences. Trim parts, like the lenses, are pricey.
Dash lights - Electroluminescent - no bulbs. In 66 this includes the console, radio, and the actual gauge needles, via a cat hair wire. Start with the "Power Pack" - the 200 VAC source. Dash is the ground, Orange wire is 12 v in, white is 200 VAC out. All the gauges, console, radio, have a white wire to them. With all whites unplugged, plug in one at a time w a good power pack. If one doesn't light, it needs repair. There are multiple sources for Power Packs, as late 50's Imperials also used them.

Wow! That is definitely sticker shock. I had a 66 with a 318,(way back in 72), which I think was the same color. I think I paid $300.00 for the whole car. One of the tail light lenses was broken so I bought both sides new. I still remember they cost me $17.00 each!

Welcome to FBBO, and good luck in your search @Mr. Guns ...but I suspect if you're looking for a smaller car with parts that are readily available and cheap...you should be looking at Camaro's or Mustangs.
