not all painters and body men are losers but there are a far share of *** holes out there ,quit looking for a deal your a real cheap price that`s where most are bargain guys just do your home work and check the BBB make sure you get a contract have photographs and a list of all your items and condition when you drop it off oh and make sure he has full coverage on your vehicle and make you do also

I was truly lucky - the guy that painted my X did a wonderful job. It took him a long time but it was worth it in the end. He was a car restorer. He did a lot of work for me and charged by the hour. He was worth every penny. Time was the only issue. Not in CA tho

I know how you feel brother, was in the same spot your in now. Don't give up hope! Remember plan B is always plan A... just have to find a way to work through it.

I feel your pain buddy. I have one too that's been gone almost 2 years now. With very little progress. It's almost time for me to cut my losses and get it to another shop. Good luck.

Thats the worst feeling. I went and got a few quotes yesterday. Both were dang near half my yearly salary. The best deal i got was 8500ish

When I first moved to Utah, dragging my basket case 68 Charger with me, I called Dave Kindig from Kindigit Design (before they were TV gunts) he came out to the house with his side kick, looked my car over and gave me a estimate of $25,000 to paint the outside of the car. $35,000 to paint it inside and out and $55,000 for turn key...Had another custom shop here quote the paint job and he came in at a little over $20,000. After re-doing the body work from the last restoration shop myself, building a paint booth and buying all paint and supplies I'm going to come in just over 5 grand by doing it myself. If you have the skills, determination and a place to do the work, you can do it yourself and save a lot of money. It's the bodywork and surface prep that eats up the money, painting is the easy part. If you can do the body work yourself and get it ready for paint some shops will just charge you booth time + supplies. Unless your looking for a concourse/show car paint job you can have a nice paint job with a little sweat equity and still have some money left in your pocket. Either way its a lot of work but nothing good ever comes easy.

Now it needs alont. Alot of dents and dings from him banging into stuff. It also needs to have some molding holes welded up
Max, before you decide on a shop be sure to talk to several past customers and see if they were satisfied. Be prepared for the estimate to lower than the final cost and prepare for the project to take longer than you were told too.
